The protagonist's professed conflict is person vs person, because he dislikes his wife. But another way to look at it is person vs self because he ends up bring about his own demise. Plus he chose to marry her so it's kind of his fault this happened.
Apparently the husband is trying to find words to hurt his wife, to kill her. He learns that the words he and she plays are now happening in real life. When his wife plays carful, that should have been the clue.

The climax of the story is when the main character discovers that the words are becoming reality in a way. The denouement is when his wife plays death and he chokes to death. P.S. denouement means the final resolution of the intricacies of a plot, as of a drama or novel.
I think situational irony is the kind used here because we expect his wife to die from the quake, but she manages to play death and ironically he has a letter by his mouth, he inhales it and he dies
