Spring Feelings
Disclaimer: I don't own RWBY.
It was a beautiful, sunny day on Patch. The heat of the sun was balanced out by the occasional cool breeze, which also carried the smell of spring.
Blake was sitting on a field of grass, leaning back, eyes closed and simply enjoying the lovely weather. It was times like these when she felt truly at peace. When she could sit back, relax and enjoy the beauty of the world.
Her peaceful trance was interrupted by the sounded of someone sitting down next to her. Opening her eyes, she found herself gazing into pools of deep silver, which shone brightly as the younger red-head beamed at her girlfriend. Blake smiled back. This was the one thing that could make her day even better.
She then noticed a basket of strawberries in front of Ruby.
"It's strawberry season in Patch," Ruby said. "I picked these from a farm not far from here." She held the basket towards Blake. "Try them! They're super yummy!"
"Oh, really? So, you've tried them already? How many did you have?"
Her girlfriend flushed with embarrassment. "One...Two...Baskets."
Blake's smile grew wider. Her girlfriend could be impossibly adorable. Slowly, she reached up, took a strawberry and slipped it into her mouth. As soon as she bit down, her mouth exploded with the sweet, juicy taste of strawberry.
"You weren't kidding," she said after swallowing. "These really are tasty." She took another.
Ruby inched closer until they were shoulder to shoulder and placed the basket between them.
As they ate, Ruby noticed a blow flower next to her. She plucked it, closed her eyes and made a face from which Blake knew she was making a wish. Then, she blew and the seeds scattered in the wind.
Blake couldn't help herself. She gently turned her girlfriend's head to face her, leaned in and planted a soft kiss on Ruby's lips.
Ruby beamed. "Hey, my wish came true."
Blake giggled. Leave it to Ruby to make a nice moment even better.
The two of them let themselves fall back onto the grass and lay there in each others arms.
Blake smiled contentedly.
As sweet as the strawberries were, they were nothing compared to the flavor of Ruby's lips.
