A/N: in "The Furry College Years" I mentioned a Tommy and Amy bonding moment. Here it is…
Excerpt from BWOC: The Furry College Years Chapter 7
Tommy- "I mean, I know she accepts it, but it scares her sometimes. I mean the first week after she was adopted, she came into my room one night. She had a nightmare that she fully let out the wolf and killed her parents, the Landers."
The adoption had been finalized. Now her room was really that, her room. Sally…Mom… was taking her shopping tomorrow to get her some things to decorate it. Right now she was laying in her bed asleep.
But not for long…
Dream…
There were her parents, her birth parents, the Landers. They were screaming at her, "Why? Why do you hate us?"
"I don't," she told them.
"Then why did you let them adopt you?" they screamed at her. She pleaded with them, trying to make them understand that she would always love them. But all they did was yell at her, angry with her for allowing them to be replaced.
She fought to control herself, but it wasn't enough…
Something happened, not sure what until she saw them lying motionless. They weren't screaming at her anymore, just lying there covered in blood. She reached out to touch them and saw her hands…covered in blood. Then touching her mouth and pulling back her fingertips were now smeared with blood as well.
She could taste the coppery redness on her tongue…
She was fully phased, the wolf in her had been released!
End of dream…
She sat bolt upright, her eyes flashing. Trembling she curled up trying to relax and failing miserably. Staring at her alarm clock, 10 minutes later she was still shaky. Climbing out of bed and walking to the bathroom, she turned on the light and splashed cold water on her face. Looking in the mirror, she could see her eyes still had a golden tint to them. She swore she could feel her wolf side fighting to get to the surface. The blood on her hands and on her lips from the nightmare was still fresh in her mind.
Leaving the bathroom and walking down the hall in the opposite direction from her bedroom, she opened the door to Tommy's room.
He awoke slightly at his door being open. "Huh?" he said, still half-sleep. Then he saw who it was. "Amy?" Seeing the golden tint in her eyes, lighting up the dark room like headlights, he said, "Come here." She came over. "Sit down," he told his new sister, which she did. "What happened?"
Her voice shaking she said, "There was blood everywhere. I…I can s-still taste it…still see it."
Wolfing out, he asserted alpha position, he pulled her into his arms and holding her close he said firmly, "What happened?"
"I had a nightmare. My parents…the Landers…they were mad because I've been adopted. They said I was replacing them. They were screaming at me and," she took a deep breath. "I tried to control it, but it came out. My wolf came out. I…I killed them," she finished, her body shaking as the tears rolled down her cheeks.
Tommy didn't say anything. He didn't have to.
All he did was held his sister closer, hugging her as he leaned back, laying the two of them down in his bed and pulling the covers over them, while his wolf comforted hers.
There, lay the two wolves, entwined in comfort and asleep.
