As I said yesterday, I am on an absolute writer's streak, so expect a good flow of writing. But, my uncle just came today so… ya. LOL I won't be able to dedicate my entire life to my computer as usual. XD lol so here's an ATLA one-shot for you guys! Enjoy and review! ;)
Aang's POV:
I tossed and turned, restless. I looked up at the moon, and realized it was nearly 2 AM. My heart pricked when I remembered the moon. I knew the moon. I was the moons friend. I protected the moon, and failed. And more, I fought for the moon, along with the ocean. I missed the moon, Yue.
I sighed, and rolled over again. Too late, I realized I turned on Katara. She gasped, and woke up with a sudden alarm. I blushed, and backed away a bit.
"Sorry." I whispered. She rubbed her eyes, and looked at me.
"Hey, why are you up this late?" Katara asked
"I just woke up." I lied.
"No, you didn't. I can just tell." I sighed, and fell back down to the ground. "Is there anything you want to talk about?" She asked quietly.
"Don't you want to get back to sleep?" Katara asked, trying to stifle a yawn. I failed.
"Your well being is more important than my sleep." Katara joked. I smiled a tad.
"I'm worried about the Avatar cycle. I'm the last air bender. What will happen in 400 so years when the time comes for a new air bending avatar?" Katara blew a strand of chocolate brown hair out of her face.
"Aang… that's nearly 400 years away from now. Why stress about it now?" I turned away from Katara.
"Yah, but what if 400 years from now the cycle stops. I'd be the one to blame! Sure, I'd be long dead, but I would have a terrible name! It's my fault the air temples got wiped out. Things would've turned out differently if I stayed."
"You're right Aang. But not for the better. You would've been killed like all the other air nomads." I looked at Katara. She seemed so sure about everything.
"Right, Katara, right." I stared blankly at the ground, making little circles in its dusty services.
"Plus, Aang," Katara said quietly. "I know someday, you're going to marry some extremely lucky girl, and the chances are great one of your children will be am air bender. Then they'll get married, and have air bending babies, and those babies will have babies…" Katara dwindled, and stopped. "You get the point. Someday there will be a lot of air nomads again. Just wait." Katara smiled, and I smiled too.
"Thanks Katara."
400 years later…
The southern air temple was bustling with life. There were no lemurs, or sky bison, but many air nomads glided in the sky. Including, one young girl. She had faintly tanned skin, and ocean blue eyes. Her hair was jet black, with streaks of chocolate brown. Her smile was dazzling, and went beautiful with her only year old arrows. She wore traditional orange and yellow robes, and laughed, leaving the sky. She walked around the lotus garden, just basking in the day. It was her sixteenth birthday, and she wanted to enjoy every moment of it.
"Kana," A voice said. The girl; Kana; turned away from the garden, blushing. Darn it! What was wrong? Was she supposed to be practicing? Kana racked her mind for anything she didn't do she needed to do, but drew up a blank.
"Yes?" She asked sheepishly to the elder, Aaro.
"Come with me. We need to talk to you." Aaro and Kana walked away.
OK… I think you guys all know what's gonna happen. Kana is the new avatar. Ha Aang! You were wrong! XD lol ok. So can I have your opinions? Thanks! ;)
