A/N: I wrote this back in 2013 before Thor the Dark World and after the Avengers. I'm in the middle of editing it(in 201) after 4 years of ignoring this story completely because I didn't have a beta and I was kinda struggling with the English language so there were a lot of typos and places where I didn't quite manage to express what I wanted to - so bear with me.

The cell was dark and humid. A tiny window shed some thin rays of light from above his bed, but that did almost nothing to help with the darkness surrounding him. A prince of Asgard. Odin's "son". No, this was what he deserved. He stretched his arms above his head and sat on the bed. He could practically feel the dust particles fly out of it.

He could feel the presence of guards somewhere on the corridor outside his cell. Two guards and a third person. Something was different. For the last week or so he had been able to hear somebody else pass the corridor; not the guards, perhaps Thor? No, that couldn't be it. Why would Thor do in this part of the castle?

"It's time" he heard one of the guards say – to the other perhaps.

A metallic sound filled the room. Somebody opened the door, and then –

"Brother" Thor's voice. Loki looked up. Thor's face – blue eyes, blonde locks. Not dressed in his armor – casual clothing.

Loki opened his mouth but no sound came out. He cleared his voice and tried again.

"Thor" a look of pain passed Thor's face; perhaps because of how bad Loki's voice sounded.

"Come with me"

Loki obliged.

The sun was hitting his eyes uncomfortably. The wind biting his face, birds making horrible sounds while flying like arrows through the partially clouded sky it was a normal day in Asgard and Loki couldn't believe how much he had missed this.

"You aren't going to ask why I brought you here? Not even a bit curious? " Thor asked him, but didn't turn his head towards his little brother. The sun was catching his golden hair in such a way that it looked almost white. With the set of new wrinkles on his skin Thor resembled Odin greatly.

Loki said nothing and turned to look back towards the city below the castle's balcony. Delaying the conversation could grant him a few more moments in the sun.

"The Allfather wants to see you."

"Father, father, look what I found" the four years old demigod skipped through the halls until he reached his beloved father. He then showed the little animal he had saved from being killed by other kids. It was a fluffy little thing with tiny ears and two big, brown eyes. "His name is Kout, father. I just found him outside the palace. Some people were mean to him but I managed to heal the wounds. I even cleaned his fur, look!"

Then Odin, fearless leader, conqueror and king, took the little animal in his big hands and told Loki. "You are a child any parent would want. I am sure you'll be a great king in the future."
