Mikian picked up her eye patch and put it over her shiny, sliver, right eye. Her dark brown left eye blinked a few times when she opened the window in her apartment. The light covered the dark room like a paint bottle spilling on the floor.
She put on a plain black t-shirt tucked into a short, plaid black and white skirt, then a thick leathered black and gray jacket, and last put on her long black boots that covered half of her black knee height socks. She ran her hands through her black, long, layered hair before grabbing her bag. She looked at the calendar on her table. 'November 30' she read in her head. She locked the door to her apartment room and went down the elevator. The sun was shining brightly and there as not a single cloud in the beautiful, light blue sky. She took out a small envelope from her bag and opened it. A tear ran down her peach face, falling down on the letter from the envelope, as she read:
Dear Mikian Hinaura,
We have to leave you here in America. Please stay hidden and be safe. We promise to come back and get you. We have signed you up for Powers School, there; we have someone that would keep you hidden and safe. He is the principle of the school and is name is Kai. On November 30th is your first day of school. We know that school already started but we had to make some changes. At 8:00 go to the church on Powers Street. At 8:15 the portal will open and you will be able to go in. There will be a lot of other students there with powers. Also choose your friends VERY carefully.

And manage a halfway smile. On the back of the letter, there was a map of where the church was and where to the portal would open. She sighted and took a few steps up the Powers Street. Once she arrived behind the church, she saw nothing but a brick wall and a HUGE crowd of people. Student her age were laughing and giggling with their friends. At exactly 8:15 a black hole in the brick wall appeared and the other students started walking in. She took a breath, blinked her dark brown eye and walked through the dark hole.
