Disclaimer: I do not own GG. If I did, the show wouldn't be like it's right now. Jenny would be in UES. Blair'd be more awesome. Chuck would have a redemption storyline. Serene would stop dating guys and actually concentrate...basically you get the gist. Therefore the only thing I (sadly) own is this story.Nate/Jenny was my OTP and they'll always be. The fact that the writers have fucked this pairing up and never once gave it the chance it deserved pisses me off to no end. I can't even... so I wrote this, which isn't a happy story but I always figure, there'd be two ways they would end given that Nate's first love will always be Serena. Anyhoo, reviews would be appreciated ^^v

You desired my attention but denied my affections
...so tell me now where was my fault, in loving you with my whole heart?

Once upon a time, Jenny Humphrey dreamed of prince charming, white castle and the whole nine yards.

Because let's face it, who doesn't want everything?

With her father, her mother and her brother, they'd all live happily ever after.

The end… but not so much.

Once upon a time, prince charming rode in on his white horse with a princess imprinted in his heart, one with long legs, baby blue eyes, golden locks and intoxicating laugh. They kissed; he fell in love before she left him for a lowly peasant in the land. The people were shocked, and stunned but none more so than him; and this is where Jenny Humphrey's happily ever after begins.

Her prince charming rode in on a white horse and left a trail of his heart on the floor. She picked them up, one by one, until they were both too intoxicated to know better. Fast forward to two years later and they're playing pretend like it's the most natural thing in the world. She comes to make a once in awhile appearance as their chosen Queen and he does because it's part of his obligation. They enter with their hands intertwine like it's always been that way (and it surprised her how familiar his skin feels upon hers). They laugh a couple of times and he's courteous enough to look at her like it's actually love (she knows better than to be fooled). There's a moment of weakness when he looks away and her guard's down. She lets her eyes skims over his long lashes, engulfing blue eyes, and his boyish smile; she thinks she can sort of see the prince he once was. Sort of and not really.

When they get home, the facades die. She lets go of his hands and he lets go of her waist. They enter like the King and Queen that they are and part like strangers on the streets. "So… goodnight," he says as he gives her one last look before going up the stairs and into his bedroom (not their bedroom, never has been theirs), while she stays behind like it's nothing new.

Because he's always leaving, and she's always waiting.

Isn't that what dreams are made of?
