Second of all, this is has NOT been beta'd. Annnnnnnnnd, it was written in about ten minutes...so you'll have to forgive my errors.

Fireworks danced in the night sky, illuminating the darkness in all different colors. Lights flew across the different monuments on the National Mall, creating a magical and romantic effect.
Temperance Brennan scooted nearer to her partner Seeley Booth on the blanket they shared on the grass. "Thank you for taking me here tonight, Booth." She smiled at him softly. "I'm really glad I came tonight."
Booth returned her gesture with his own wide grin. "I'm happy you came tonight too." He pulled her even closer, until she was leaning right against him. "I don't think you always know this, but you're actually good company."
It was the truth; she didn't always think that people enjoyed spending time with her. "Really?"
"Really."
The pair was silent for a while, the only sounds being the boom of fireworks. Finally Temperance spoke again, though her eyes were still on the fire pyrotechnic show around her. "It's beautiful."
"It sure is." Booth agreed quietly. However, his eyes were not on the spectacular performance, but rather locked on the woman beside him.
