"Danny-- Danny, wake up already. I want you to look over here."

The Iron Bison Ranger rubbed at his eyes. Had he nodded off at the table again? True, the battles with the Orgs were steadily getting worse, but they had never left him this exhausted before. He must have been tired out too, since it took him a few seconds to realize that something wasn't where it was supposed to be.

Danny Delgado was near sighted. If something was far away he had difficulty seeing it, but if it was nearby he had no trouble at all. So he could easily make out Max, since his face was only a few inches away.

And that he was wearing his glasses.

He lunged for them, but Max was too quick. "So whaddya think?" Max grinned at him as he pushed them a little further up the bridge of his nose. "Gives me a certain intellectual appeal, don't you agree?"

Danny decided to try appealing to his better nature. "C'mon, Max. You know I need those to see."

Max's smile softened. "I know. Sorry." He took them off, cleaning them with the hem of his jacket. "Everything's blurry when I look through them anyways. I guess I just..."

Danny didn't understand. "You guess you just what?"

He handed the glasses over, the smile long gone. "I wanted to see what you look like without your glasses. And I mean really see, not the four or five times you've had them off for a couple of seconds."

That didn't help ease Danny's sense of confusion. Of course he wore his glasses a lot; his vision was bad. Why would Max want to--

Max leaned in even further, almost enough for their bodies to be touching. Danny was suddenly very aware of how close Max's lips were to his. Any closer and they'd be kissing...

Oh. Now I know why.

"I'm back from school!" Alyssa climbed down the stairs, college texts in hand-- until she saw Max and Danny (who, for whatever reason, wasn't wearing his glasses today) stumble away from each other, their expressions somewhere between panicked and guilty. "I didn't interrupt anything, did I?"

Danny spoke first. "N-no, not at all. We were just talking--"

Max grabbed his arm. "In fact, we're probably the ones interrupting you from hitting those books of yours." He glanced up at his friend. "Why don't we find someplace else to pick up where we left off?"

Danny's face lit up. "Good idea, Max!" With that, Max was racing off to find a more secluded area in the Animarium, with Danny close behind him-- although he did take a moment to put his glasses back on before he left.

Alyssa did her best not to laugh. So they finally figured it out, huh? Good for them. She had started to wonder if they'd ever realize how they really felt about each other, but it seemed that they were both now seeing clearly.
