Black Roses
Author Note: This will be the darkest fic I have ever written, lots of charcter deaths, and this will be my first attempt at horror.
Author Note: I don't own Final Fantasy Versus, but I do own the poem at the beginning of the fic.
Summary: I'll leave a black rose on each of their bodies so you will know it is me, my dark prince.

A single black rose covers their corpses

Their eyes widen in pain and horror

Their intestines showing,

And any person who knows this tale

Can tell you they died a slow and painful death

Because they were killed by the Black Rose Assassin

"The Black Rose Assassin struck again," a voice utters in slight terror, ignoring the annoyed look coming from his captain.

"Obviously, Officer Solian, I'm glad you are able to state the obvious," Captain Somnus states sarcastically causing the Officer to instantly look down at the pavement in embracement, but the Captain didn't pay any attention to the officer.

"Captain there is a note on the body," the coroner says breaking the uneasy silence that followed after the Captains last statement to Officer Solian.

"What does it say, Vivia?" he questions frowning lightly, but at the same time sounding a bit hopeful, because this may be the lead in this case he was hoping for.

The woman frowns lightly as she studies the note in the light given, "I'll leave a black rose on each of their bodies, so you will know it is me, my dark prince."

"As in Lady Stella's husband?" Captain Somnus questions.

Vivia shrugs her shoulders in a slightly helpless manner. "It doesn't say, but he is the only prince for at least thirty years, but why would Prince Noctis know somebody who is considered lower-class?"

"Didn't he travel here during the Great War?" Officer Solian questions. "Staying in taverns probably became the norm for him, and this woman works at a tavern right or used to"

Vivia nods, "Although, even if he did meet her for a brief moment in time, I figured the Black Rose assassin would have gone after somebody closer to the prince's heart."

"They could have been lovers," Officer Solian points out. "Even if it was only for a night."

Captain Somnus sighs as he runs a leather gloved hand through his ashen blonde hair. "I suppose I should bring this matter to him directly."

"Do you want us to come with you captain?" Vivia questions standing up, slightly brushing off the imaginary dirt off her pants legs. Her eyes widening as she notices a figure standing behind

Captain Somnus and Officer Solian.

The woman's armor having a certain glow in the dying moonlight, her platinum blonde locks flowing gently in the cold night breeze, but what scared her, the most was her eyes.

Eyes that glow a deep shade of red.

"Captain behind you," she remarks causing the man and Officer Solian to turn around, but before Officer Solian could take out his gun the armor clad woman instantly cut him down.

Captain Somnus instantly starts to shoot at the female, "Vivia run, warn the Princess and her husband."

"But Sir," she protests.

"Just go," he orders coldly. "I'll try to buy you enough time."

Vivia frowns lightly, but turns around and follows her captain's orders.

Running in the opposite direction of the black rose assassin and her captain, even though she has a feeling he would be cut down in a similar fashion to Officer Solian.

But she can't deny the fact he is right.

Warning the Princess and her husband must come first.

"One by one each of them shall fall, and a black rose shall mark the body," the dark clad woman sings softly as the Captain yells in pain.
