Dragon sighed tiredly as he made his way along the corridor towards the throne room where Princess Cisna had called for an emergency meet while there was a lull in the war outside the very steps of Balandor.
His body was practically crying out for sleep which was very understandable considering the fact that he had just spent the last couple of days helping Yulie hunt down the fifth and final Knight that helped them turned the tide of battle. Despite this, and all the other aches and pains that had accumulated in his being ever since they had been sent by the Princess to speak to Father Yggdra what must have been nearly a month ago, he persevered through grit stubbornness and a tenacity he did not even know he had all the while telling himself he could just catch up on his missed sleeping time when he died.
He would have been there by now anyway had he not taken the long way to avoid that hyped up cat girl scientist person who really freaked him out when he met her several days ago before their mission to find the Moon Maiden, and was now thanking his lucky stars that he did take this way after seeing who was ahead of him.
"You just went through a two day journey to find your Knight yet you still find the time to stop and admire the early morning sunrise?" He asked Yulie as he approached the recently turned Pactmaker who was leaning against the sill of one of the large windows doing just as he had previously mentioned.
"Just wanted to see what a sunrise looked like after a huge battle. Someone once told me that it looked red when it came up but now I can see they were lying" Yulie explained cheerfully to Dragon sounding and looking as if she had gotten a good night's sleep.
Dragon was completely at a loss for words. Here he was, looking like the walking dead while she seemed to be as bright and full of energy as the day he had first met her. While that trait of hers was one of the things he loved about her, right now it was actually ticking him off.
"One of the perks of being a Knight: if you revert willingly before it reverts you upon exhaustion, all that leftover energy get put into you" Yulie grinned as if knowing what the youth was currently thinking about.
"Lucky you" Dragon grumbled as he leaned against the sill tiredly beside Yulie.
"Oh, don't feel that way" Yulie grinned as she leaned against the tired youth beside her. "I'm sure my own gallant Knight will still watch my back even though I have my own now, right?"
Despite feeling tired enough to just fall asleep right there and then, Dragon managed to smile confidently back at the archer causing her own smile to widen. He would always watch out for her, even if her heart was set on someone else.
"Good. Now come on!" She ordered as she clasped Dragon's hand in her own and began dragging the exhausted warrior towards the throne room where Cisna and the others were waiting.
Even if he were reluctant, Dragon allowed Yulie to tug him along on his tired feet. He had sworn he would protect and watch over Yulie ever since seeing her broken form a year ago after their encounter in the Nordian Tunnel system. He would and will protect and love her even if she did not reciprocate his feelings.
