More Then Three Daughters
Lucy's POV
I thought I knew what I was getting into when marrying Gru, three daughters and a husband. It's been around a month that I've been living here, and I've got to say it's nothing like I thought it would be.
I knew about the minions of course but it seems I didn't really know how much they mean to Gru and the girls of course. But Gru surprises me the most with how he is with them.
Most bosses don't care about the underdogs that do all their dirty work for them. But Gru does he praises them he even knows them all by name and there's a lot of them. Even back at my job higher people don't care to even know the lower ones let alone their names.
It always makes me smile when one of the minions come to Gru with a problem, it's like whatever Gru was doing before the Minion came in doesn't matter anymore. Talking about minions looks like Dave has a problem. I watch him walk over to Gru and show him his gloveless hand.
"Hurt" Dave tries to explain as best as he could. Looks like that one word got Grus full attention.
"Where?" How sweet I've only heard him use that voice on the girls so far. He must always use it not them, as Dave didn't look surprised.
Dave points to the pain tears beginning to fill his eyes. Gru quickly looks to see what was causing his minion pain before the minion got too upset.
"It's only a splinter." As Gru knows what it is he pulls the piece of wood out of Daves finger.
"There you go." Gru looks to me seeing that I saw the whole thing. He smiles at me grabbing his newspaper.
"I need to take care of some business but I'm sure Lucy won't mind patching it up for you." Dave and Gru both look to me. I knew this was just Grus way to get me to bond with the minions. Which I don't mind at all so I nod my head.
Dave walks to me and climbs the stool next to me. I grab a plaster from the cupboard from under the sink.
"Gru's very nice to you and your brothers." I try to make a little conversation while opening the plaster. I can't fully understand the minions yet, but I can understand some of the stuff they say. Dave nods his head at me as he holds his hand out.
Just as I place the plaster on Daves hand Kevin runs in looking worried and fearful, but when the taller minions eyes fall onto Dave he sighs. I can clearly tell Kevin must of heard something happened to Dave, it must if been thrown around a lot before getting to Kevin. It's like Chinese whispers down there sometimes when it gets to the right minion what was told in the first place can end up completely different.
I look to the two minions who are talking well it seems that it's mostly Dave explaining to Kevin what really happened. The only bits of the conversation I can get are "hurt, splinter, better, dad" did Dave just call Gru dad? Should I ask? No that'll be too nosey.
Dave thanks me for putting the plaster on, as he puts his glove on. Kevin thanks me too, then they both walk out of the kitchen.
They must think Gru as their father, well he sure treats them as his children. I guess I didn't know what I was getting into. Looks like I've got a whole bunch of minions for children too. And you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way.
Thought I would do a Despicable Me one shot :D been wanting to do one for ages!
I don't own Despicable Me
