Remus Lupin was amazed, truly amazed. Honestly, how often did this kind of thing happen? It was a rare occurrence, and Remus might not have believed it were he not seeing it with his own two eyes.

James Potter and Sirius Black. Reading. Actually reading an actual book, not a quidditch magazine, but a book. A hard-backed, pictureless, more than 300 pages long book.

And it had only taken the last six and a half years.

Remus opened is mouth to say something, but he was stunned. He had completely forgotten what he had wanted to tell his two friends upon making this discovery.

"Moony, it's very rude to stare you know." Sirius said, looking up from his book.

James copied him and smiled, "I think we've finally done it Padfoot, I think we've finally rendered Moony speechless."

Sirius also smiled, "Another plan perfectly executed."

This seemed to snap Remus back to reality as he looked between the two boys, "What?"

"Relax Moony, we're just kidding." Sirius said.

"Yeah, and contrary to popular belief, we do actually know how to pick up a book."

"And read it."

"Even if it is boring."

"So Remus, now that that's cleared up, we would appreciate it if you would let us get back to it."

Remus blinked as both James and Sirius began reading again. He left the dormitory as if in a robotic state, letting his legs take him wherever. Back in the dormitory, James had looked up from his book again.

"Is he gone?" Sirius asked.

"Yep."

Both boys threw their books down and smashed their lips together. Really, James and Sirius reading when they could be kissing, the whole idea was utterly ridiculous. After all, they had only known Remus was coming because of the Marauders Map lying next to them; as soon as Remus had entered the common room they had both grabbed the nearest thing at their disposal, which just happened to be a book. They weren't stupid.

Well, completely stupid.
