A/N The other day my dad and I were having a deep philosophical conversation on the meaning of the lyrics Viva La Vida by Coldplay. So for those of you who haven't figured out exactly what the lyrics mean, (b/t/w it has a lot to do with the bible… but I'm just gonna say what's relevant to this song fiction) in short: Someone/thing ruled the world, did a bad job of ruling, then got over thrown… This is about Zach's mom. Post OGSY, maybe even post GG5, but that comes out in over a year, so I have NO idea what Ally Carter has planed for GG5.

Disclaimer: I DO NOT OWN the best ever song or seriesD:

Viva La Vida by Coldplay

I used to rule the world

Seas would rise when I gave the word

Now in the morning I sleep alone

Sweep the streets I used to own

I was a top spy, but some how I was never on top of him, and for that I fell.

I used to roll the dice

Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes

Listened as the crowd would sing

Now the old king is dead long live the king

One minute I held the key

Next the walls were closed on me

And I discovered that my castles stand

Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

I had control. Then they stopped me. They ended it.

I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing

Roman cavalry choirs are singing

Be my mirror, my sword and shield

Missionaries in a foreign field

For some reason I can't explain

Once you'd gone there was never

Never an honest word

And that was when I ruled the world

I lied to him. So They stepped up, stopped it all...

It was a wicked and wild wind

Blew down the doors to let me in

Shattered windows and the sound of drums

People couldn't believe what I'd become

Revolutionaries wait

For my head on a silver plate

Just a puppet on a lonely string

Oh who would ever want to be king?

They stopped me, with him leading the way. I had it made known that I held the cards, but little did I know, I held the wrong cards.

I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing

Roman cavalry choirs are singing

Be my mirror, my sword and shield

My missionaries in a foreign field

For some reason I can't explain

I know St Peter won't call my name

Never an honest word

But that was when I ruled the world

It was wrong, I was wrong. and I payed the price…

A/N The narrator is Zach's mom, when she refers to him she mean Zach, and when she refers to them. I know not much was said in the song fiction, but I'm kind'a guessing that at the end of the GG series, Zach's mom will be captured/killed/ evil plans ended… After GG5 comes out/when I read it I'll probably redo this, but that's in the very far future.
