In Which Addison is Confused About Lust and Love
Disclaimer: I own nothing about Private Practice.
Note: Just so we're clear--I have a little obsession with Wyatt. His story line was SOOO unsatisfying, so I'm here to rectify the situation!
She is fascinated with watching the perspiration fall down the glass of scotch she is cradling. It has been over an hour since she is supposed to meet him. She can't believe that after weeks of begging her to go out he doesn't even have the decency to show up.
At almost midnight, she is surprised to see that a soft light was emanating from his office. Her pace quickens; she is ready for a fight. The quicker her pace, the tighter she clenches her fists. She is angry. She doesn't even hear the moans coming from within when she pushes the door open, hard.
"Oh my…" Addison exclaims, looking away, thinking it is Wyatt and some hussy.
"Addie?" asks the man jovially.
Addison turns around, a little less angry, a little more confused.
"Archer? Naomi!"
Pressed up against the bookshelf is Naomi; dress hiked up, after sex glow, and a very goofy smile on her face.
"What the…?"
Charlotte King walks up from behind Addison.
"So I see you've just met our new neurologist?"
"Um…"
Addison isn't sure where to begin. "What hap...What happened to Wyatt?"
"Oh? Mr. Lockhart left us pursuing bigger and better things. He gave his resignation yesterday. Told me he was planning on chasing some big pharmaceutical company…"
Addison looks really confused. "And you just let him go?"
Charlotte looks unconcerned. "Well, when I get an offer as good as Archer Forbes-Montgomery, how can I turn that down?"
Addison, having collected her voice once again, turns to Archer. "For God's sake, would you put your pants on?"
Archer smiles. "And she's back."
Addison makes the move to pick up his pants that are haphazardly hung on the back of his chair.
"Here," she says as she inadvertently looked down. "Oh, Jesus. Can't you cover that thing?"
Addison asks as she waves her hand in the general direction of his crotch.
Archer grins. He likes it when she's uncomfortable.
Naomi is hoping to slip away before Addison starts in on her, but no such luck.
"Nai, what the hell is going on?"
Naomi shrugs. "What? A girl can't have some fun?"
"Of course she can! Just not with her best friend's older brother!"
She turns her attention back to Archer. "Archie, can I talk with you outside."
On their way out, Charlotte whispered to Archer, "Archie." Then she starts to laugh.
Archer shuts the door behind them on the way out, but Charlotte and Naomi pressed their ears against the door.
"Why are you here, Archie?"
"Can't a big brother visit his little sister?"
"Oh please, like that is ever your motive?"
"Who says there's a motive?"
"Of course there is," Addison says with exasperation. "It...it isn't money, is it?"
"Isn't I love you enough?"
Suddenly, Addison felt a man press himself from behind, wrap his arms around her waist and whisper, "What did I miss?" in her ear.
She screams. Then, she screams again and elbows him in the gut.
He doubles over in pain. He has trouble breathing.
"Shit, Addie. Where'd you learn that?" asks Archer, clearly impressed. "I might not need to be your knight in shining armor after all?"
Still trying to catch his breath, the man asks, "So, who're you?"
Archer gives this man a weird look. "Her brother. Who are you?"
"Dr. Wy..." he breathes heavily. "Dr. Wyatt..."
Charlotte whips open the door. "Back so soon?"
