The Most Dangerous Game
Draco was playing a dangerous game, and Lucius wasn't going to simply play along while his son danced around him.
For Draco, the prize was a happily-ever-after with his mudblood princess, while Lucius played to right the wrongs his son was committing. Lucius could see it coming; his son would be going all-in soon, so his time to strike was getting smaller. This was a game of skill, not luck. Draco had made two fatal mistakes during their match, the first being his assumption of Lucius' ignorance. The second was challenging Lucius at all.
Lucius was finished playing the fool.
