It was that fateful day of June 3rd, 2011 that I came into this world. My name is Diesel a black and white tom cat with stunning green eyes. My mother Click gave birth to me in the beautiful season of spring under a cherry blossom tree.
My mother is a rouge. She thought she had no need for a clan and, for the most part, was right. She could fend for herself and easily catch prey. My father Swift had followed her out of the clan they originally called home. They were mates before they left, with Swift a brave warrior and Click a talented medicine cat. The clan they left was MoonClan, a clan known for being very good at hunting and stealth.
My eyes were still closed but I could hear all sorts of sounds. I heard birds chirping with the slight breeze in my face. "He's wonderful." I heard my mother say. I felt my mother's silky pelt. How wonderful this is! I thought.
I felt my mom pick me up by my scruff and carry me somewhere. Once we got there the birds stopped singing and it was warmer. I could only presume that we were at home. I got put down and my mom lies beside me. I got comfortable in the leaves formed into a nest. I felt warm with my mother beside me.
2 Years Later- My head lowered. I lay close to the ground. I pounce in the air striking the object. 'I got it mama!" I show her a small mouse I caught. I stood with pride. "Very nice Diesel! It's getting late, we should go inside." She says with a worried look on her face. "Where's daddy?" I say running to catch up. "I don't know. He said he was going to catch fresh kill but he's not home yet." We walked to the house. "I think he caught us a BIG bunny for us to share!" I said optimistically. "I bet he did." She looked out of our log home. I put the mouse I caught in our small pile of fresh kill. We didn't have much food so that's why I always tried to catch some. I usually failed, but sometimes I got lucky and got a small mouse or snake.
It's been an hour and dad still hasn't come back. I lay my head down. Mom is still sitting by the entrance waiting for dad. "Mom. Is dad coming back?" I ask. My hope is starting to break one small shard after another. " *Sigh* I don't know sweetie." She sighs. " Go to bed…"
I wake up the next morning. No sight of dad anywhere. I see mom asleep by the entrance. I look out of the log and I see a bunny. My eyes lit up. I went around the back entrance and stared. The bunny stood like a statue with only its nose twitching. I stalk up to the rabbit with the tall grass hiding most of my body. I pounce. The rabbit doges me but I chase it into the forbidden woods.
"Diesel?" My mom yells. "Diesel?!" She sees I'm not in my bed. She leaps out of the log home and sees nothing. "Oh no…. Not… The forbidden woods!" She exclaims.
I apparently have been chasing the rabbit for longer than I wanted. I trip. "Waaah!" I yell as I fall a long way down a steep hill. I black out.
"Are you alright?!" I open my eyes. I look up to see an orange and white she-cat. She is looking down to me with a worried expression. "Your bleeding!" She says. I stand up and look at my paws. They have multiple little cuts. "There must have been some thorn bushes on the way down." I say. "How are you going to stop it?" She asks. I grab a few leaves from a nearby bush. As I walk it feels like sharp pains going through my paws. I dab the leaves on my wound, wincing because it hurt. "I think its done bleeding." I say. "Good." She mews. "By the way, What's your name?" She asks. "Diesel," I say. "What about you?" "Thistlekit." She says with a grin. Thistlekit. What a nice name. I thought. "Wait… Are you a rogue?" She asks frightened. "Well yes, b-" Her fur raises and she backs up. "I- I have to go…" She says running off. "Wait! What did I do?" I say sadly.
