I had this idea when I was trying to solve a Rubik's Cube. I never did manage to solve the stupid thing.
Rubik's Cube
Kaiba glared at the little Rubik's Cube in his hand. He had been trying to solve it for the last three days. WHY did Mokuba have to buy him a Rubik's Cube. Mokuba had said that it was supposed to help him relax, but all the stupid little cube had done was make him more stressed. He was LOSING to a bright, happy colored plastic cube! Seto Kaiba did NOT lose! Especially not to plastic!
Kaiba glared at the cube again, trying to figure out how to solve it. It looked ridiculous, and it made Kaiba feel ridiculous. The stupid cube looked impossible to solve. But it was PLASTIC! How could Seto Kaiba, the world's greatest duelist (except for Yugi, but Kaiba wasn't going to admit that), lose to a CUBE!
He almost walked into a lamppost, but Kaiba looked up at the last second.
Why did he care about the stupid Rubik's Cube? It was just a piece of plastic, and no one would ever know if he shoved it into the trash can and never mentioned it again.
But he would know. And Seto Kaiba did not give up. Ever. He didn't lose (especially not to plastic cubes) and he did not give up any challenge. No matter how stupid it was.
Kaiba turned the cube around. Click…click…click. Kaiba turned a few sides, but the new arrangement of colorful squares didn't look any closer to being solved than the old arrangement.
"HOW AM I EVER GOING TO SOLVE THIS STUPID RUBIK'S CUBE?! IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" Kaiba half-shouted.
There was the sound of approaching footsteps.
"Hey, cool! Kaiba has a Rubik's Cube! I love those things!"
WHY did Joey have to hear Kaiba's Rubik's Cube frustration? Of all the people in Domino City, why was Joey the one to hear?
Joey looked at the Rubik's Cube. "So, when'd you get it?" he asked.
"Mokuba gave it to me three days ago to help me relax, but all this stupid cube is doing is making me MORE stressed," Kaiba said, walking faster to get away from Joey.
"I know! Those things are addictive! How many times have you solved it?"
"Uh…I haven't solved it yet."
"What? It's just a Rubik's Cube!"
"It's impossible!"
"Let me see it!" Joey said, taking the cube before Kaiba could move the cube out of Joey's reach.
Click. Click. Click. Click, click, click. Click.
"Done." Joey handed the cube back to Kaiba. Kaiba turned it over, staring in astonishment. The cube was completely solved.
Joey walked off. Kaiba stared in shock. How had that blonde puppy dog solved the Rubik's Cube? Kaiba twisted the cube, messing it up again. If Joey could solve the cube, then Kaiba could. He just hadn't been trying hard enough.
Kaiba stared at the Rubik's Cube. It looked impossible to solve.
Mokuba walked up behind Kaiba. "So, have you solved that Rubik's Cube yet?" he asked.
Kaiba didn't say a word. He handed the cube to Mokuba. "You try it."
Click. Click. Click. Click, click, click. Click.
"Done!"
