Author's Notes: I'd like to know what Cas really thinks about the Winchester brothers. I think he finds them intriguing and maybe inspiring in the way that they care about each other since we know of no angels, and very few humans, that share that kind of bond. Well, aside from maybe Michael and Lucifer, but that was only eluded to. So until we see something on the show, this is my little snippet of interpretation.

Summary: A conversation about Sam between Dean and Castiel. Cas's view on the brothers.

Something Not Seen Before

"I'd let the world die for him, Cas. I thought I could let him go, but…" Dean huffed a laugh. "I'd do anything to keep him. I'd sacrifice down to the last person for Sam."

Dean remembered harsh words in some nameless motel room, remembers what he'd called Sam the day before that church in Illchester. He smiled bitterly.

"Guess that makes us both monsters, huh?"

Castiel cocked his head at Dean, regarding him as one would a slightly slow child. The corners of his mouth turned up just a bit into a smile. The angel shook his head.

"It makes you both remarkable."
