Leyton One-Shot:

Peyton. It had always been Peyton. Even when he'd been with Lindsey a part of him was saying it's wrong to be with her and that he should be with Peyton. Since the day, they met with him towing her car and her moody and dating his half-brother.

It hadn't been exactly like a fairy tale story out of a children's book. They fought, he dated her best friend first, she was dating his half-brother when they met, she shut him out, he had a heart attack right after they became a couple, and they lived on different sides of the country for over four years. In the end, everything had always worked out for them.

He couldn't love anyone half as much as he loves Peyton. Lucas would and will do anything to protect her. When Physco Derek attacked her, the second time it killed him that he wasn't there to protect her. For weeks and weeks he beat himself up for not being there, he beat himself up for not getting to Peyton sooner when he attacked the first time. Today he still doesn't forgive himself for not being there.

Lucas watched Peyton go through different relationships, even though he hated to see her with the other people, Lucas was silent because he just wants her to be happy.

At Lucas's bachelor party when he saw her kiss, Chase it felt like someone had kicked him in the stomach. At the time, Lucas had argued with himself about this feeling. Lucas almost walked up to Chase and punched him in the face for kissing his girl. Not Chase's girl, she is Lucas's girl.

Looking back over the time without her Lucas realized that he was never as happy with anyone else as he was with Peyton. When he said he hated her he didn't mean it, he meant that he hated the fact that no matter how many times they broke each other's hearts they would still unconditionally be in love with each other, no matter how hard they tried to see other people.

Unthinkingly the next day Lucas packed for the airport and as he sat down, after buying tickets he called Peyton. It was always her and always will be. Peyton has no competition; she will always be his number one.

Having had memorizing her phone number he dialed breathed a silent breath when she picked up the phone. "Hello?"

"It's me; I have two tickets to Vegas. Do you want to get married tonight?"
