The first time Megara Faline saw him clearly was when she was a girl of six years.
She was asleep in the room that she shared with her twin brother on her birth planet, Themyscira. Shortly after her young eyes closed, she was transported to a planet of sand and heat. Megara looked around and saw a boy not much older than her, with his back in her direction, carrying a box towards a hut as the sun beat down on his head. She has heard his voice before, but she has never seen him this clearly. Something in the sand made him trip, and the contents of the box strewed everywhere.
Something screeched in outrage, and she looked up to see a creature - if she ever had to describe it - that looked like an insect and a reptile mixed together. It was blue, and had a small trunk for a nose. Wings like that of a dragonfly jutted out from his back. His feet were clawed and webbed, and his hands were bony, unlike his gut. All in all, he looked like a harpy Themyscirians told there children about at night.
The creature said something harshly to the boy in a language she could not understand. The boy tried to defend himself in the same language, but the creature was having none of it. He unfurled a whip he had strapped to his side and proceeded to whip the boy.
Megara gasped in horror. "Stop it! Leave him alone!"
The creature didn't hear her.
But the boy did.
His head dragged itself up to look in her direction. The little girl froze, but the boy's eyes showed confusion, seeing that there was no one there. Because his face was partly shoved into the sand, she couldn't see his face properly. But she could see the color of one of his eyes,it was the color of the sea after a storm.
The whip lash that hit his skin made him scream. She screamed along with him and shot up from her sleep, tears streaming down her face.
Her parents, Drakon and Atalanta came in to see her twin brother Mathyus trying to comfort her as her shaking form buried her head in her knees.
They tried asking her what was wrong, but Megara shook her head and kept mumbling to herself.
"That poor boy... Poor boy..."
The second time she saw him was three weeks later.
She was playing hide and seek with her brother, but with a few blinks of her eyes, she was once again on the planet of sand.
Once again, his back was towards her as he hugged a woman whom she could only assume was his mother. The woman pulled back and looked at her son with sad eyes.
"Don't look back."
The boy, with his back still towards her, looked at his mother on last time before turning around and walking towards a figure cloaked in black. Megara could feel the evilness that radiated off the mysterious figure in waves. She knew right away that if the boy went with the mysterious figure, bad things were going to happen.
"No don't! Don't go with that man please!"
Just like the last time she saw him, his head looked in her direction. But just like last time, he saw nothing, and she didn't see his face clearly.
"Come now my boy, we don't have time to linger."
Megara tried again. "Don't! Please!"
The boy looked over his shoulder in the direction where he heard her voice, but kept walking.
She was shocked out of her vision when Mathayus rammed into her shoulder. "You're it!"
When Megara didn't move, Mathyus gently placed his small hands on her shoulders. "Meggie?"
His sister blinked away the vision and looked at him with wide eyes. "I saw him again. The boy."
Megara pursed her lips. "And I think something bad is going to happen to him."
The third time she saw him was when she was meditating in her room in the Jedi Temple.
And out of the two other times she saw him, this one was the worst.
With most of his face hidden by the shadows, she could see that he was trickled down his face and he kept viewing the nightmare that was playing in his head.
"Mom... No...Hold on... I'm coming."
He started thrashing around. "NO! DON'T TOUCH HER!"
His eyes darted open and he shot up from bed. "MOM!"
The boy's shoulders were shaking as tears began to leak from his eyes. He buried his head in his hands and wept.
"Mom... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..."
Megara ran from where she was to the boy's side and tried to touch him, but her hands went straight through him.
So instead, she knelt by his side and cried with him. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..."
That was the last time she's ever saw of him. It would be years until they met face to face. One forged by the light... and the other by total and complete darkness.
The first time Anakin Skywalker saw her was when she used the Force for the first time.
As he looked at the girl, he realized that her voice must be the one he heard in his head a couple of days ago. She was a small child, younger than his year of seven. And she was sparing against who could only be her mother with a weapon he's seen pirates and smugglers trading in the market.
Her mother used her sword to knock the girl's sword out of her hand before body slamming her to the ground. She scrambled backwards to avoid her mother's sword strikes.
"Never let your guard down! You expect the battle to be fair?!"
Even though she blocked a blow with one of her gauntlets, it still set Anakin on edge.
"The battle will never be fair!"
One of the sword strikes came a little to close for comfort, and Anakin couldn't take it anymore.
"Stop!"
Just as he spoke, the little girl pushed a hand towards her mother as if to push her away, but her hand never made contact.
The older woman was sent flying away, landing a few feet away. The little girl stared at her hand in awe and terror. She looked back at her mother, and tears began streaming down her face.
"I'm sorry Mama... I'm sorry..."
Her father was there in an instant and swept her up in his arms. She buried her face in his shoulders, tears still streaming down her face. Anakin ran after them as they walked away and tried to take her hand in his. "Please don't cry, I don't like it when you're sad."
She peaked over her father's shoulder to see who spoke. Her dark brown eyes were confused when she saw nothing but her brother and mother. Anakin was confused too. She was looking right at him... Why couldn't she see him?
The second time he saw her was three months after he heard her voice in his head as he was leaving his mother and his home planet to train in the power he's felt since the first time he saw her. This time, she wasn't in the courtyard of her home. This time, she was standing in the middle of a room alone with a helmet covering her eyes as a silver ball floated in front of her, blocking every shot it fired at her with a practice saber.
From the shadows, he heard two people talking.
"With the Force, strong she is. For a child her age, strange this is."
The other man spoke. "I spoke with Plo Koon earlier, and he said that she was progressing faster than any youngling he has yet to see."
"Train her myself, I will."
The other voice sounded shock. "You haven't had an apprentice since-"
"Become a Jedi, she will not. Become something else, she will. Known this, we have. Since she stepped foot in the Temple, we've known"
It was silent as they observed her deflect shot after shot. If they said anything else, Anakin didn't hear them. He was far too busy watching the girl as she concentrated on deflecting the blasts before they could nick her.
He suddenly ached to be near her, to know her.
"Who are you? Where are you?"
The girl's shoulder's stiffened, and Anakin hoped that she would take her helmet off so he could see her eyes. But alas, as soon as her shoulders stiffened, they loosened, and she resumed her concentration deflecting the shots.
The third and final time Anakin- No, Vader now - saw her was when he was meditatingin his private chambers.
It was her Knighting Ceremony. She was kneeling in a room with the Jedi Council his master told him about surrounding her. Master Yoda, Darth Tyrannus's former master, held his lightsaber over his angel's shoulder -
yes, his angel. He has heard her voice in his mind countless times, and whenever he was practicing with his saber, it was as ifshe was there sparring with him. They've been in one another's mind since they were children, so they belonged to each other - before he began speaking.
And conveniently, just like all the two other visions he's had of her, her name was not mentioned.
"-by the right of the Council, by the will of the Force; Dub thee, I do."
Master Yoda flicked his wrist upwards, and his jade green lightsaber cut off her padwan braid.
"A padwan no more, you are."
His angel stood up, accepting her burden to the light. But Master Yoda kept talking.
"But a Knight of the Jedi Order, you are not."
What?
On one hand, he was happy that she wasn't yet another sheep to be led by the Jedi. But on the other, deep anger rolled through him because they denied his angel the title that told of her capabilities as a warrior.
"Know what you must become, you do."
The girl nodded. "Yes master."
"A home, here you'll always have, ever should you need it."
Master Yoda then bowed his head. "May the Force be with you, My former padwan."
The girl bowed back. "May the Force be with you, my master."
Vader felt excitement flow through him and the thought of finally seeing his angel's face after two visions of not directly seeing it. But apparently, the Force was determined not to grant his wish. Just before she turned around, she pulled her cloak over her head, once again hiding herself from him, and walked out of the room.
He stared at her retreating form from the shadows until she disappeared.
I will find you. And you will be mine, just as much as I'll be yours.
Author's Note: Hi Guys! This is my second Star Wars series I've written so far, and I can tell you it's going to be a hell of a lot darker than my first Star Wars series.
Yes, based on the name of Megara's home planet, a lot of her culture will be taken from Greek culture with a little bit of Wonder Woman element here and there.
So, I am writing the sequel for Cat Eyes as I continue to update this.Tell me what you guys think, yeah?Love you all!
