Armin froze. Was that...no, it couldn't have been. But it was. Armin choked up. He kneeled down, staring at the body. Armin began to sob, as he pounded the ground. 'Please, God,' he prayed. 'Don't take her away from me.' He sobbed louder. He continued to pound his fist into the stone street. 'This can't be happening!'
He heard footsteps behind him. Then a familiar voice spoke. "Armin," Eren muttered. "We have to keep moving." Armin shook his head, clinging to the body.
"No!" He exclaimed. He clutched the corpse tightly to his chest. "I won't leave her!" Eren sighed.
"She's dead, Armin." He said, a little too harshly. Armin sobbed, shaking his head wildly.
"She can't be," he whispered. "We were going to get married, and build a house together. She promised." He looked at Eren. "She promised!" Eren looked away.
"We have to keep moving, Armin." He repeated. Armin shook his head again.
"I'd rather die than keep moving!" He screamed, his voice cracking. He held the body close, kissing its head softly. He ran his fingers through its hair. Eren sighed, and called for Mikasa. The two began to pull Armin back, who struggled like a wild animal. "You can't let me leave her!" He shouted. He turned his head, and bit down on Eren's hand hard. Eren yelped, and released his hold on Armin. Armin ripped himself away from Mikasa, and scrambled back to the body. He grabbed hold of it, and hugged it tightly. He continued to sob, burying his face into its bloodied hair.
Mikasa and Eren glanced at each other, before turning their gaze back at Armin. "We know you loved her, Armin," Mikasa stated. "But the titans are coming. We have to move." Eren nodded.
"Christa wouldn't want you to mourn for her in the middle of titan territory, Armin," Eren soothed. Armin held Christa's body closer, shaking his head.
"Christa, don't leave me," he whispered. "I love you. Please don't leave me." He felt Eren and Mikasa pull him to his feet. and lead him away. Armin didn't struggle. All the fight in him was gone. Armin sniffed. 'Christa, don't leave me." He thought.
