Author's note: I began typing out this story almost 3 years ago, and I haven't written anything since. Being the Naïve little boy I was, I figured I'd always be able to make time to return to my humble keyboard. However, as we all know life isn't quite that simple. It becomes muddled with work, responsibility, priorities and such…Sometimes even casting a shadow on things we love doing. I used to get E-mails every now and then, about someone picking up one of my old stories and asking me to finish it, or how much they enjoyed reading it. I longed to return, longed to weave words once more, but I never really got around to it. Today, however, that changes. I adored writing, I adored seeing people review my story, enjoy it. So, at the very least, I'm back to finish what I started so long ago. This is 'Bitter Sweet Reunions' Version 2.0, edited and made all the more better.
It's good to be back~

Chapter 1 "Looking Back"
The city lay still and silent, well, as still and silent as New York could get. A few more clicks of the clock and it chimed softly, it was 4 am. Naturally, you would imagine most people would be in bed resting, right? Alexis Rhodes was not one of those people.
A long strand of dark blonde hair fell out of place, dangling in front of her eyes. Her hand darted across the page, furiously putting pen to paper.
"Ugh, why do I always leave things till the last minute?" She thought to herself.
It had been three years since she had graduated from Duel Academy. Since then, she had moved to the North American branch of the school, aspiring to become a Duel Analyst. Alexis hadn't changed too much over the years. Probably, the only apparent difference was that she no longer wore her Obelisk Blue uniform everywhere she went. Other than that, her hair was perhaps a tad longer, her figure, surprisingly, even more developed, but all in all, she was the same Alexis.
Naturally, being the ace student she was, she excelled. Her brains and her beauty became common knowledge, a phenomenon that wasn't too unfamiliar to her. As she progressed she caught the eye of the Principal, who, one day, offered her a position as a teacher. Alexis had always wanted to teach, but was always a bit hesitant, she wasn't sure if she was up to it. How could she forget the traumatic experience she had in her senior year at Duel Academy? She was suspended in darkness, floating in a dark abyss, forced to endure her innermost fears over, and over, and over again. She could never forget the band of rowdy students berating her abilities. Even though she managed to overcome that darkness, those fears, some of it still lingered on. It took a few days, but she warmed to the idea and accepted the position. Now, however, is one of those times which she wished she hadn't. She was clamoring to get a lesson plan finished; the Vice Principal was really strict about his deadlines.
"Just a little bit more and I can hit the hay" A soft sigh rumbled past her lips.
Clumsily, she rose from her seat and made her way to a bookshelf. She needed a copy of the student roster to finish her paper. As she plucked and pulled at one of the many files, a great many books shifted from place and rained down upon her. Good thing they weren't that heavy, a few had directly bumped her noggin. With a soft scowl and a few choice swears, she began organizing the clutter at her feet. As she piled one atop the other, a particular cover caught her eye. It was a deep shade of crimson, with gold writing embossed on the cover. The title on the cover read: 'Duel Academy Yearbook.' At that moment, finishing her lesson plan seemed insignificant. She plucked the book off the ground and returned to her desk. Every page seemed to make her smile even more widely than the last. She froze on a page which displayed the Class picture, scanning the sea of familiar faces till she found herself, along with the rest of the gang. How quickly time goes by, it seems only yesterday that she was walking through those halls for the first time. A few more turns of the pages and it began to dawn on her, that their group of tightly knit friends had virtually lost contact with one another. The only person she really had continued contact with was Atticus, that even due to reasons of genetics. A desire to see them all again began to swell inside her, perhaps she could give them all a call sometime, or maybe…
"That's it a reunion. Nothing too big just the old gang back together. I could invite Syrus, Chazz, Zane, Blair and even…." Her train of thought came to an abrupt halt. She frantically tore through page after page. Finally, she stopped when she found a picture of young man with chocolate brown hair, a red blazer draped over his shoulders, a smile etched upon his face. That smile…it was always so contagious.
"and even Jaden… "
Her heart gave a slight jump as she whispered his name.
That's one chapter edited and redone, I'll try and finish the other's today, and then start typing out a fresh batch. Hope you all enjoyed it, don't forget to review~
