When it was all good:
Life was normal for Sarah, it was the summer holidays and all she was thinking about was her first day of high school the next week and all the friends she would miss so dearly. Little did she know that high school would change her forever. But that wasn't in her mind right now; the only thing she was worried about was if she would see Nathan again this year and would they still be friends as they had been in primary school. As Sarah lay down and closed her eyes she flashed back to when she had first met Nathan, in year 1.
She remember playing in the sand with him every day at lunch and recess with bull ants and making homes for the sick ones jack, the bully that year hurt even though most ran away or died. From there she started to think about year 3 and 4 when they used to play on the monkey bars a game they called 'washing machine' with their other friends. She remembered how happy her life was then and how everything was normal.
With these thoughts she sat up in her bed and reached under her bear, which sat on the dresser draws next to her and pulled out a photo album. She opened it to the first page to see her kindergarten photo. She stared at all the faces of people she still remember and her own, how much she had grown in 8 years. As she turned the pages she watched herself in the photos grow older but something else changed after her year 4 photo which made a tear run down her cheek, her weight.
She kept going from page to page watching everyone stay a health weight as she grew larger and larger. She hated it, but she hadn't done anything to change it had she? She was now going into year 8 she still had the same problem. One of her best friends, holly was nearly half of her weight which whenever they were together made Sarah always self conscious. Then Sarah fell into a deep sleep with the album still in her hands.
Sarah woke up with a fright after having a very bad night mare about Nathan dying and herself being killed by a bull ant. She scanned the room to see the clock say 2:00am and her album, now on the floor opened at the page with one picture on it. She picked the album up and had a closer look at the photo, which was of her and a group of people. She looked at photo which seemed to be taken in year 3 or 4, everyone was smiling but her. That was the year when all her friends were in the one class, Holly, Mel, Nathan, beck, and Lilly.
One thing she did remember bout that photo was why she wasn't smiling. That day she had taken her crazy crabs to school and one had bitten one of her classmates, the only way they could get it off was to kill it. That's why she wasn't smiling cause to photo was taken a few minutes after her crab had died. That was one thing she hated bout her primary school but the positive things out numbered the negatives. But high school wasn't going to be the same she thought as her droopy eyes shut once again.
