Grell fell to the floor, sobbing violently.
"No" he whimpered. "You're lying, he can't be hurt"
The other Reaper looked down. "I'm sorry. He was horribly injured while out working. It was attack by wild Demons. He couldn't beat off that many. He'll be in hospital for a long time"
Grell shook his head. He couldn't believe what he was being told. William had never been hurt in action. At least, not seriously. If anyone was hurt out on the field, it would be Grell, and that had never landed him in hospital, so how could Will have that misfortune? It was impossible.
"I- I want to see him" Grell wept, getting to his feet. "Please, I need to see him"
"You can't; you're not allowed"
"Why not?! I have to see him! You can't stop me!"
The Crimsons tearful arguments meant nothing. No one was permitted to see William, as he was in such a state.
Grell curled up on William's bed, hugging a pillow to his chest. A hot sweat had broken out all over his body and his heart thumped in unsteady beats, ridden with emotional torment.
"I want to see you Will!" he sobbed to himself, hot tears drenching his already burning face. "I need to see if you're ok…"
The pain he felt in longing for his partner was something words could never describe. It was as though his own death scythe had been plunged deep into his chest with the blades still rotating; while someone held him down to stop his struggle. He held the cushion closer, his gloves fingers digging in as he gripped it as tight as he could.
It had been so long since Grell had been parted from William. They'd been together for ages, seemingly forever, always there. Occasionally William would be home late, greeting the other with a kiss and an apology. As much as he knew it wouldn't happen, Grell fixed his blurred gaze on the bedroom door, hoping against hope that William would enter and make everything ok again.
