I miss you. God, those three little words didn't seem big enough for the current moment. After a whirlwind week of spending time in LA including seeing Damon. Emily found herself sitting on her couch at her hotel room with an overwhelming feeling of longing. Had it really only been last night that they saw each other? It felt like an eternity.

They had taken their sweet time driving to Emily's plane to met Kaylie and Payson.. One kiss grew quickly too many, and they became trapped in their own little world. As the time grew increasingly short, Damon had taken a deep breath, opened her door, and grabbed her hand, easing her out of his rental car. Standing on the curb she watched silently as he grabbed her suitcase from his trunk. He placed the luggage on the curb, and then he was suddenly everywhere. His arms had encircled her, pulling her flush against him, breath hitting her skin at the nape of her neck.

She wasn't a crier, but felt a hot sting burn the back of her eyelids. He sniffled once, twice, and then pulled back. Their eyes met. She opened her mouth to speak, but her words were smothered by his mouth on hers. Yearning, lust, and love pouring into that moment. The broke for air several minutes later, foreheads resting together.

"Why am I leaving to go to boulder while you are still here?" spilled from her mouth before she could stop herself. He chuckled, pulling back. "I know babe but you have you training and I have music to write, I wish you didn't have to." She smiled, sadly, and then hugged him. Every part of her was yearning to stay, but she had obligations and training to do.

"I'll see you soon," she said in a rush while disentangling from him finally.

Damon: "Call me or text me when you get home?" "

Emily: "Of course."

She hadn't looked back, knowing she'd run back in an embarrassingly romantic comedy way. Nope. She walked quickly to Kaylie and Payson who were waiting at the small private airport she idled her wait having some fun on facebook, and had no issues during her plane's takeoff. She had started feeling emptiness at 3500 feet, but attempted to distract herself. Luckily, her plane made it safely in to Boulder, minus the terrible rainy weather. "Typical" she thought sadly.

A half hour after her plane landed and Kaylie's mom dropped her off, she had finally slumped on her bed, mentally exhausted from the day. The pit in her stomach grew, and she fought the urge to cry for the second time that day. She didn't know it would be this hard; every time they saw each other was perfect, but every time one of them left it felt like something was missing in their lives. She pinched the bridge of her nose, urging herself to snap out of it.

She reached into her purse for her cell phone blindly, . She pressed call on her phone quickly; his face lighting up her screen.

"Hey, I am home ," she sighed when she heard the audible click.

"Emily!" "It's good to hear your voice."

You saw me this morning," she giggled,

"Feels like a week ago to me" he trailed off.

"Me too."

A silent long pause passed, she heard him take in a breath before he spoke.

"I want to say I miss you, but those words aren't right. What's more than 'miss you'" he said with tons of emotion in his voice.

"Whenever you figure it out let me know."

"I can't do this again, Emily."

"Damon, I know it's hard right now, but it won't be like this forever." She was starting to panic at what Damon said. Where was this coming from?

" Emily, stop, right now, that's not what I mean. I mean we can't keep leaving each other again, so I think I've got a solution." His voice was playful all of a sudden.

"What solution could you possibly have?!"

"Why don't you open your apartment door and find out?"
