"I WON'T LET YOU!" Spike spins around smashes his fist against the wall, making a rather large hole. His face is released, fans bared, hard breathing. " It can't be true." He says a little quieter, his anger spent. He looks up at Buffy, small tears slowly run down her cheeks and disappearing. He changes his face.
"I'm sorry Spike…but…I don't…I can't….It's complicated." She looks away, huddling herself with her arms. Buffy takes a step back, looks down and sighs. " I didn't come here to fight with you. I just wanted to come and tell you to your face that…that I'm finished, Spike. I'm a slayer, I can't deal with it anymore. I've died and have been to heaven, I've been in a relationship with a vampire, twice, I fought demons, I kill the bad guys so everyone else can be safe, I've seen nightmares come to life, I've been miserable and don't know what to do with Dawn, I have lost friends and family, I…" Buffy looks up at Spike. " I'm tired, Spike. Of everything. I just want it all to go away. I want to be left alone. This is the only way I know how." She takes another step back, afraid that her emotions will get the better of her.
"So you think that killing yourself is going to make things easier? If anything, it would just make everyone else worse off. Your special Buffy, you're the key to our lives. Willow, Xander, Anya, and especially Dawn. We need you…" Spike looks down at the floor, " I need you."
Buffy, stares at Spike. " Please Spike, I need you to do this." She takes what's left of her courage and lifts the stake up in her hand, out to Spike, and walks toward him. She stops just steps from him. " Please." She changes her face and looks away, Fangs showing, her eyes yellow and glowing, and her wrinkled face in pain. " I can't live a lie. I can't be a waste." She changes back.
"Buffy, if I do this, the world would be left without a slayer to fend off the baddies and to be the heroin. I can't let you do this, we aren't the only ones who need you." Spike pushes her hand down, and slowly walks toward her. Buffy doesn't resist, she just lets Spike take her in his arms and hold her tightly. " If I lose you, I would rather die."
Buffy looks up at Spike." But your already dead. And so am I." He looks down at her and a tear slips calmly down his cheek. " The next Slayer is already called, it's routine, and She will take my place. I have thought this through, Spike. And I'm thinking about Kendra, Miss Calendar, and my mom. I've thought about how any second I could get an urge and murder my closest friends and only family. I need this." Buffy's voice shakes as she once again lifts the stake and hands it Spike. " Do it!" Spike looks away. " DO IT!" Buffy shouts at him as she fiercely wipes the tears away. Then calmly, "Do it." Spike sighs, the tears falling freely, as he takes Buffy in his arms and kisses her on the forehead. "I love you." Then he takes the stake and places it over her heart, and pushes with all his strength, striking home. The sensation that ran through Buffy was instant, but painless. This would have been the way she wanted it to have ended. She closes her eyes, as she feels her bones and skin start to become immobile, darkness swims in her vision, and her throat dries, but she manages to say one last thing. " I love you." Then crumbles, andall that's left is a pile of ashes. The last of Buffy, The Vampire Slayer.
