Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.

~8:00 o'clock p.m.~
James is playing with Harry on the floor. He's such a wonderful father. I'm reading a copy of Witchs' Weekly. There's an interesting article about a young man named Gilderoy Lockheart who banished a banshee for a small village somewhere in Ireland.
When the clock reads 8:27, I get up and take Harry from James. It's time for a bath and then bed. I turn on the tap and wait for the tub to fill a little before putting Harry in the water. He's splashing around and I'm laughing at him. James comes in to see what all the noises is about, and gets splashed. Now James is laughing too. When Harry is clean, I take him out of the bath and dry him off before putting him in his pajamas. It's now 9:09.
I'm about to put Harry to bed when there's a loud bang at the front door. James looks out the window and is suddenly screaming at me. "Lily it's him! It's him! Damn Peter!"
I'm terrified. What if he kills James or Harry? I can't let him hurt my son. James is yelling for me to take Harry and run. It's too late. The door is opening. I can't get out. I run into the nursery, but not before catching a glimpse of the man who I know will kill my family.
I can hear James yelling as I hug Harry to me. A cold, hissing voice can be heard over my husband's screams. "AVADA KEDAVRA!" I can see the green light through the crack under the door. As the door opens, I put Harry back down and turn to face him. I won't die with my back turned.
"Move you silly girl! You need not die." His voice sends chills down my spine.
"No! I won't let you kill Harry!" I know it's useless. As soon as he kills me, he'll kill Harry. I don't even have my wand. But I can't help but hope that I'm not delaying the inevitable and that something will save my baby boy.
"Have it your way then." He points his wand at me and says the words that will seal my fate. "AVADA KEDAVRA!"
My vision is filled with a green light and I can hear his maniacal laughter. A sudden sharp pain shoots through my body ...and then...nothing.
