Enjoy! The warm water splashed against the bare feet of Aya and Sakura. The lake was a perfect shade of blue as it clearly reflected the starry night sky. The waters were calm, but sometimes the lake appeared if it was overflowing and the sound of waves could be heard.
Sakura rested her head against Aya's shoulder as he held her close. Her face seemed so peaceful; she was definitely in a good mood. And why shouldn't she have been? She and Aya didn't often get chances to be together. Aya would soon have to leave so that Sakura would stay safe; after all, there was no room in an assassin's life for love.
Aya was eternally grateful for Sakura's love. The lake continued to overflow, but the waves never seemed wild; they actually sounded very peaceful. Aya enjoyed sitting here with Sakura, for this place felt very fitting to them. He sometimes wondered why, but watching the waves would bring an answer. He longed for just a little bit of peace and tranquility in his chaotic life.
Sakura clutched the clothing over Aya's back slightly tighter and he lightly kissed her forehead. While their relationship wouldn't last, their love would. Aya was never supposed to love or be loved. Maybe that was why Sakura's love was so special to him. Even if their relationship never progressed past kissing and hugging, Aya would be more than satisfied.
This did feel strange to Aya. On the outside, he never seemed like the type to muse about a peaceful blue lake. Maybe he wasn't that kind of person. Maybe he was just here because of Sakura. It was regrettable that he couldn't always be with Sakura; eventually he would have to leave her for good. Still, Aya wanted these briefs moments with Sakura.
The waves were continuous. The lake would overflow and then the waves would fall back. It was as if the waves had been repeating this pattern forever and would always continue to do so. Some would call it extremely repetitious, but Aya found it pleasant to watch. Few things lasted forever, but Aya was sure of one thing that was eternal.
"Aya-san, look over here," Sakura requested, lifting her head up. Aya turned his head and found himself locked in a kiss with Sakura. She raised her hand to touch his face and he took that hand into his. He would've smiled if he could. Sakura was a calm person, but he could still expect surprises from her. If anything, Aya was the predictable one. He always followed the same pattern; he would appear out of nowhere to visit Sakura and then would leave just as suddenly. It hurt Aya every time he left, but the pain eased whenever he saw Sakura's smiling face. When he did finally leave for good, she would eventually begin to smile again, and he would be happy merely knowing that she was safe.
The stars shined brighter and the water reflected more light. Underneath the perfect blue sky, Aya and Sakura continued to share a peaceful kiss. The only sound came from the waves, and the only color visible was a serene shade of blue. Aya had always longed for this kind of peace and tranquility.
When the kiss ended, Aya smiled softly. He couldn't think of anywhere else he would rather have been. Sakura held him tightly in her arms as the warm water again splashed against their bare feet.
