Library Love

Hermione Granger was sitting at her favorite table in the library. It was tucked back between some bookcases near a window. It use to have those uncomfortable wood-back chairs, but in her third year she had transfigured them into old comfy arm chairs. Now she was comfortably sitting in one with her legs swung over the arm. It was a Saturday afternoon and she had come in after breakfast to read her book. Sometime around lunch she had dozed off and her book was lying next to her on the chair.

Draco Malfoy was walking past the bookshelves when he spotted someone laying on a large arm chair. When he got closer he realized it was a girl. She had chestnut hair that was slightly above wavy and long, gorgeous legs. There was a book next to her and he picked it up, careful not to wake her. There weren't any words on the cover so he opened it up and saw that there was neat writing up in the top right corner. Property of Hermione J. Granger, Gryffindor: 7th Year. He nearly dropped it. This was Granger's. Which meant that the girl asleep in the chair was Granger. Draco slowly moved the hair away from her face. She stirred slightly, but didn't wake up. He just started at her. He couldn't believe how beautiful she was. She had defiantly grown up since first year, her hair was less bushy and wavier, she didn't have those buckteeth anymore, she wore clothes that actually fit and showed off her nice figure and she had soft, caramel chocolate eyes.

'Wait.' Draco though. 'If I can see her eyes, then she can see mine, which means that she's awake!' He jumped backward and Hermione sat up and looked at him questionably.

"What are you doing Malfoy?" The words seemed to float out of her mouth and Draco wanted to hear that sweet voice forever. "Malfoy?"

"It's a library. What do you think I'm doing?" He pulled out a chair and slammed his bag down next to it. "I'm studying." He opened up Hermione's book, which he still had in his hands, and pretended to read it. He heard Hermione get up and stand next to him.

"Well unless you are studying my personal life, you have the wrong book." She said right before she snatched it out of his hands and held it by her side. Draco stood up and faced her.

"Well maybe I was." He snatched the book back from her. She glared at him.

"Give me back my book Malfoy." She tried to grab it from him, but he had Seeker reflexes and quickly moved it out of her reach.

As Hermione stood fuming, Draco took in the fact that she was breathtaking when she was mad. Her pouty lips thinned into a dangerous line and her eyes resembled chocolate magma. Her hair seemed to be teeming with electricity and he briefly wondered if he would get an electric shock if he touched it. Hermione took a threatening step forward and Draco felt his mind go numb because of how close she was. He knew she was getting ready to yell at him again, but he just couldn't stop his body from taking that little step that brought their bodies together and leaning down to press his lips to hers.

Hermione forgot who he was and every hurtful word that he had said to her as his soft lips moved against hers and her hatred for him seemed to melt away. She reached up and ran her hands through his hair and he wrapped his arms around her waist as her book slipped from his fingers and lay forgotten on the floor.

Draco had never kissed anyone like this before. He felt free when he was with Hermione. Free from everything he was expected to be. He was just himself. The Draco that no one else had ever seen before. The Draco that he wanted to be for her. For his Hermione. Forever.
