Disclaimer: I do not own percy jackson
Today, as usual, I was reading my books when suddenly I heard noises from the crest of the hill. I stood up in alert. Was it a monster? Or…could it be…Oh well. Maybe I shouldn't keep my hopes high. There hasn't been a new half-blood since a long time. But still…perhaps my time has finally come. So, I went up the hill with Chiron.
There, I saw a boy and a Minotaur that vaporized and turned into sand. Hmm…so he killed a monster without any training. Not bad. But it's nothing unusual, and most of the campers have achieved that. Even I was able to kill a monster at the age of seven. Grover was there, too, lying on the floor groaning. I went over and looked down at the boy. The boy was around my age with black hair and green eyes.
"He's the one. He must be." Today might be my lucky day after all.
"Silence, Annabeth." Chiron said. "He's still conscious. Bring him inside."
I volunteered to watch over the boy. Grover said that his name is Percy Jackson. Hmm. Interesting. Named after Zeus's son, Perseus. Could he be a child of Zeus like Thalia? Or is he another son of Hermes? Either way, he must be the one. About the right time, too. It seemed like something very important was stolen from Olympus. I also heard something about the summer solstice
Someone mumbled something. I turned around. It was the boy talking when he sleeps. He drools when he sleeps, too. Boys. I heard him mumbling something like Mrs. Dodds, monster…etc. He must have had a monster as a teacher. No surprises here.
One day, while I was feeding him ambrosia, he opened his eyes. Finally!
I asked him quickly, "What will happen at the summer solstice?"
"What?" he croaked.
I looked around, making sure no-one can hear us. "What's going on? What was stolen? We've only got a few weeks!"
"I'm sorry," he mumbled, "I don't…"
Someone knocked on the door. Quickly, I filled his mouth with ambrosia. "Come in." I called.
It was Grover. "Is he okay?" he asked.
"Yeah, he's fine."
"I'll watch him, you can go and do your stuff."
"Thanks." With that, I left.
