A.N. A bit random but then so is anything else in my brain.
Merlin POV
Some days you just wake up, think about all the work you have to do then roll over and attempt to sleep again in a failed attempt to hide from it. Well I have those days pretty much every day: wake up and realise that yet again I will be spending the day polishing armour, scrubbing floors, fetching meals for and even dressing the delightful personage that is Arthur Pendragon. Not to mention that when I'm not doing all that I'm suffering his moaning about how I'm only a half-decent manservant. Some people are just never pleased. My workload would be a challenge for 2 people to complete, let alone just me. Even with my little secret. And then on top of all that I have to keep my magic and the fact I'm the last Dragonlord a secret from everyone, because if anyone knew I would be dead. I really need a second pair of hands for my job.
Arthur POV
It's funny, I'm perfectly capable of doing a lot of stuff but let's face it if you have a Merlin to do it for you, why bother. After all a King can't be expected to go in the kitchens to fetch his own meals. It's just not the way things are. The only things that are Kingly to do are jousting, hunting and various other combative activities. Ah it's such a hard life really being King of Camelot.
I can see how Merlin struggles under the mountain of tasks he does for me each day, and I've tried breaching the topic of getting a second manservant with him but the thought of sharing duties with George was a less than welcome idea to him and me both. I mean the guy is seriously boring, he tells jokes about brass. At least with Merlin I can have a good laugh at his expense, he's such an idiot sometimes the way he acts all wise and then walks into something, once again proving that he is indeed a fool.
Merlin POV
I've been reading in Gaius' books for anything to help me but as of yet nothing. I could ask The Dragon but then I'd just spend months deciphering the riddle which wouldn't help me at all. For now I'll just have to keep going as best I can.
Morgana POV
I had another vision last night. A girl was sat on my throne. But how can this be? Guinevere is queen, unless she was to meet a terrible end pretty quickly, but who is this girl? I know my brother, he loves Gwen, if she were to die he would grieve and remain a widower for the rest of his days. It's sweet and everything but that throne is MINE! No little girl will ever take that from me! You hear?
Merlin POV
That's the third time this week I've fell asleep on the job: once scrubbing the royal bedchamber floor, once mucking out the stables and once on the horse's back on a hunting trip. I couldn't continue anymore. If it happens again then Arthur will replace me with that brass-obsessed suck-up George. For my job's sake and for Arthur's sanity I mustn't fall asleep again. There must be something, but the problem is it isn't in any books. Whatever the solution is, it's in Kilgarrah's head. I'm going to have to...
Please Review it would make the little hamster in his wheel powering the ideas a very happy rodent indeed!
