Doom
by Fallon Sanada

A/N: My first foray into Megami Kouhosei/Pilot Candidate poetry. Guess who it's for and from!

I didn't know how far I'd gone
Nor did I know how long
I wonder if I thought of you
Or of what I'd lost.
Darkness twists around me
A shimmering midnight web
I wonder if you think of me
I wonder if you care.
My whole heart goes out to you
And I am saddened that I myself cannot go
Follow my heart as I'm supposed to
But it would hurt you far too much.

I do not know how far I've gone
Nor do I know how long
I think that I have thought of you
And of that love I lost.
Doom-webs fall upon me
Tie me to my spot
I wish that I could go to you
But I, alas, am lost.
The road ahead I cannot follow
For all that I am gone
This love I leave behind me
Surely you can understand.

I wish I knew how far I've gone
Or that I knew how long
I wish I knew if I thought of you
And of the love I lost.
Dewdrops begin to collect
Upon my soul-weary form
How long have I wandered thus
How long since my path was lost?
My heart, unfortunately, cannot go
To where I am
For I have given it solely to you.

I do not know how far I've gone
Nor do I know how long
I wonder if I've thought of you
Or of the love I've lost.
Doom is like an ever-approaching storm
Which I must face alone.
You will understand eventually
Why I must abandon this love now
I know the end is near now
I can feel it in my soul
I just need to relax
A perfect paralysis,
And lost control.
