I just watched the season 8 of Will&Grace and felt like writing about Grace and Karen.
Loud Colours
For a moment Karen stopped polishing her nails and looked at the red- headed woman standing on the other side of the room.
She was so concentrated on her drawings that she didn't notice.
She never noticed.
Sometimes Karen wished she would, but maybe it was better this way.
She had tried to convince herself that she was only mean to Grace because it was fun. That she was being her friend only so she could use her.
Or that was what she wanted Grace to think.
Somewhere deep inside Karen knew it was only because she was scared of her.
She had given up believing in love a long, long time ago. Martinis were much more reliable, never left her alone, never asked anything in return and made the world look much happier.
Still this woman could make her feel something she had thought she had forgotten.
It was like her eyes could see into her soul. Her presence seemed to fill up the emptiness she had inside.
But Grace would never love her. Not in that way at least.
It was better to keep hurting her so she would not get hurt herself…
"Karen!"
She looked up and saw Grace standing in front of her desk looking pissed off.
"Would you consider doing some work today!?"
She was wearing a bright pink blouse that had big white dots on it and ruffles on the sleeves. She loved the woman but my god, didn't she have a mirror in her house…
"Sorry honey I didn't hear you, the colours on your shirt are being too loud," Karen said, flashing a smile.
Grace glared at her a moment and than turned around. "Oh I give up!" she shouted walking back to her drawings.
Yeah, it was better this way.
