Chloe's Cousin
Chapter 1
Our story starts with a 16 year old girl sitting in a car a book of crosswords on her lap. She sighed as she finished putting in the last answer. The girl had icy blue eyes and golden blonde hair with a streak of blue.
"Dad...I'm bored" she complained.
"Are you finished the crosswords already?" he asked
"Yes" she said
"Aella...why didn't you bring anymore crosswords?" he asked
"Oh maybe because when you are yelling at me to get out the door I don't think about grabbing crosswords!" she fired back at her dad.
"You know if you used your mouth as something other than a weapon you could get along with people better" her dad said.
"Babble, Babble, Babble!" Aella said.
"Aella…" her dad said in a warning tone.
"When are we going to get to Smallville?" she moaned.
"2 hours" her dad sighed.
Aella sighed. This was the most boring 3 hours of her life. Suddenly she started rooting through her backpack and pulled out a copy of The Da Vinci Code. It was one of her favourite books because of its emphasis on cryptography and conspiracy. She rolled her eyes at her dad's back.
"Here we are whirlwind" Aella's dad said. Aella rolled her eyes. Her dad called her whirlwind because her name was Greek for whirlwind. Most people wondered why an American girl had a Greek name. It had been her mom's idea and people say it was also the first sign of the Sullivan Curse has she called it: Every woman in the Sullivan family had gone insane. The first person Aella saw was a tall girl with blonde hair cut to chin length and had blue eyes.
"Chloe!" Aella called smiling at see her cousin for the first time like five years… no more like 3 months.
"Hey A," Chloe said running over. "It's been like forever!"
Behind Chloe were 3 other people: Aella's cousin Lois and 2 people who she had met previously Lana Lang and Clark Kent. After Aella's dad had left to talk to Chloe's dad Lana turned to Aella.
"I meant to ask you last time you were here: What kind of dye do you use?" she asked looking at the blue streak
"It's natural" Aella said self-consciously
"Oh" Lana said surprised. Suddenly Aella spotted Lex Luthor. Lex looked at her.
"Who are you?" he asked
"Your lawyer's daughter" she said.
"Hey Clo…?" Aella said
"Yeah?" Chloe said turning to her cousin
"Since I'm starting at SHS can I work at the Torch?" she asked.
"Of course" Chloe said.
"Awesome" Aella said.
"Hey Chloe…do you mind showing Aella around Smallville?" Aella's dad asked
"Not at all" Chloe said.
Later on after Chloe had dropped Aella at her house and Aella was sure that there was nobody else in the house she concentrated. She smiled as water formed a tear drop around her hand. She had discovered this power about 10 months ago and loved to practice every chance she got. So Aella stood in the bathroom facing the sink and she sent the water flying in a perfect arch into the sink.
"Yes!" she cheered. It was the first time in a month that she had managed to get the water in the sink. She didn't know how she had these powers but she loved them. She wondered if Chloe's Wall of Weird would point her in the direction of other people like her. The next day Aella woke up to her alarm going off at 6 am. "Mmrph…" she mumbled turning the alarm off and going to bed until her dad came in and said "Rise and shine Sleeping Beauty". Aella dragged herself out of bed for breakfast and got dressed in a blue racer back tank top and faded boot-cut Juicy jeans. She picked up a back pack and headed out the door. Once she arrived at the school she spotted Lana and made a beeline for her.
"Hey Lana! Have you seen Chloe?" Aella said
"Hey, she's in the Torch office" Lana said then she saw a confused Aella and said "Go straight up the stairs the first door to the left".
"Thanks Lans" Aella said.
