This is my FIRST Dresden Files story. Book-verse. I don't really like the show, they made Bob human-like. And (from what I've seen) Susan doesn't exist. Remember too, I only saw one episode so this may be an unfair accusation.
Anyways, this is a songfic about the relationship between Susan and Harry to Neil Diamond's 'I'm a believer'. Harry's POV. I've tried to capture his sarcasm in this… Enjoy.
Also, anyone who's waiting on the fourth chapter of my karaoke story, don't hold your breath. School has been absolutely mad (everyone uses that excuse but it's true.) The only reason I got this little guy up, was because I had him tucked away in my hard drive for situations like this.
Disclaimer- I don't own the Dresden Files. If I did, Morgan would combust. Spontaneously. I also don't own this song. Neil Diamond does.
I thought love was only true in fairy
tales
You know, despite my job as a wizard, fairy tale romances were pretty non-existent for me.
Meant
for someone else but not for me
Love was out to get
me
In the most painful sense.
That's
the way it seemed
Disappointment haunted all my
dreams
And other things besides. Bit worse than disappointment.
Then I saw her face
Lovely Susan. The reporter who never says die.
Now
I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt
in my mind
At
least, I believe in love a bit more than I used to.
I'm in love
Took me long enough to realize it.
I'm
a believer
I couldn't leave her if I
tried I
thought love was more or less a giving thing
Seems the more I
gave the less I got
Because you'll get your heart stolen every time.
What's
the use in trying
All you get is pain
God
knows I've got the scars to show for it.
When
I needed sunshine I got rain
Literally and metaphorically.
Then I saw her face
Such a sweet face.
Now I'm a
believer
Not
a trace of doubt in my mind
Not
anymore. No doubt in this mind.
I'm
in love
I'm a
believer
I
couldn't leave her if I tried
So… Should I
a) Write more Dresden fan fiction
b) Get my rear into gear and post that fourth chapter
c) Go- Hey! We don't use that sort of language around here! Besides, that's not physically possible for me to do.
Review if you'd like, and remember (assuming you write for a fandom I know) I'll review you too.
