"Emma," Will said, taking her hand. "It's not that difficult…don't worry, people do it every day."
"Yes, Will…people who can do it…I…I can't do this!"
"Yes, you can," he insisted. "You can do this."
"No, I really can't." Her doe eyes grew larger. She wanted to be able to do this with him. She really did. But it was hard. This was something she had never done before. Sure, it had its purposes, but what was the actual point?
"It's alright, Emma," he said. "Just take in a deep breath and follow my lead."
She took a deep breath, but it didn't calm her nerves. She was still terrified.
He gripped her hand even tighter. "Don't worry. I'll be right here. I'm not going anywhere."
"Ok…alright, Will," she said in a quiet voice. "I'm ready."
And with that, Will lead her into McDonalds.
