CHAOS AND QUIET

When he kissed her, everything fell into place. His life was messy. Chaotic. He hated himself most of the time, and the rest of the time, well, he still wasn't a

big fan. But when she came around, things grew calm. Even when she wasn't speaking to him (which was often) it still grew quiet in his head, finally, when

she was there.

It didn't used to be that way. For a while, having her around only intensified the chaos in his head. The anger, the sadness, the guilt, just got bigger and

bigger, until it exploded all over her. It wasn't something he was proud of, not even when it was happening, but it was something he almost couldn't help.

During that time, it was as if since he was miserable, he wanted her to be the same. Even now he wasn't sure why it was her that he directed all his anger, but

there it was.

Then, when he needed her, she helped him. She didn't have to. She just did, without making it more difficult for him. She knew what he needed, and she gave

it to him, no questions asked. He still doesn't really know why. He certainly didn't deserve her kindess, not after the way he treated her for over a year.

Maybe she's just built that way. Maybe she just felt sorry for him.

Finally, finally, when he kissed her, the screaming in his head finally got quiet. The noise stopped, the constant thoughts racing, it all just ended. For that

moment, that tiny moment on a balcony, the quiet finally came, and everything fell into place. Now, when he sees her, the quiet shines through. And when

she smiles at him, the world lights up. He's still kissing her, still loving that moment when everything falls into place. It's the quiet that gets him, and he

knows that she's the only person in the world who can bring that for him. Without her, the chaos will take over. Without her, he just doesn't matter that much.

But she gives him what he needs. Peace of mind.
