Ty Lee had returned to the Fire Nation. It had been several months since the war had ended. Even though Azula caused her a lot of pain, she still felt guilty that she didn't go to visit Azula before she left with the Kyoshi warriors. She had heard of Azula's downfall to Zuko and Katara. She knew the princess would be devastated from the ordeal.

She was lead by a guard through the dark halls of the prison to the princess' cell. Ty Lee observed a hunched over figured, it was unkempt and wobbling. She pitied her former friend more than ever.

"I'm sorry that you're here," she said gently.

"Like usual, you've got it all wrong," Azula said in her normal arrogant mocking tone.

Ty Lee was confused and asked, "What do you mean?"

"You should know by now that this was my plan all along," Azula said shaking her head in disappointment at Ty Lee.

"Your plan was to be imprisoned?" Ty Lee asked. She was unsure if her friend was mad or a genius. Sometimes it was hard to tell with the princess.

"Yes," Azula replied, "I knew I needed to devise a new plan when my father proceeded with my idea of destroying the Earth Kingdom without me. What a foolish man my father was, thinking he would be able to take on the Avatar by himself. He didn't understand that he was nothing without me. It was obvious that he was doomed to fail without me."

The princess noticed her friend's interest piquing and continued, "From the time my father told me of his foolish plan, I began to formulate my plan. It takes time to design the perfect plan. I should thank you for opening my eyes with your betrayal. You taught me not to trust anyone. Because of it I was alert enough to catch a servant attempted to assassinate me. I needed to work fast to survive.

"It wasn't until my brother arrived with that Water Tribe girl; then I knew what to do. I needed to fake a defeat. It was extremely difficult for me, since no one was capable of besting me. I tried to make it look believable. He wouldn't cooperate if he knew he were merely playing into my hand. So after a long battle I allowed the Water Tribe girl to 'defeat me'. I am such a good actress, neither of them suspected a thing.

"My brother was too weak to destroy me. He's always been too weak. I knew that if I lost I would merely be placed in prison," Azula smirked arrogantly. "And so here I am."

"I still don't understand your plan," Ty Lee admitted, a troubled look in her eye.

"You don't see that the royal servants are going to rise up against the royal family? It's not that hard to predicted Fire Lord Zuko's fate. He will be assassinated by one of them," Azula cackled madly. "Then I will be released and become Fire Lord!"
