"You know, this is really not fair on me!" She shouted, snatching his hand in hers rather viciously.

Sasuke tried vainly to struggle away- top of the class genius couldn't escape the grip of a flower girl. He knew what was coming, he'd known for a good three months. Yes, three months. He'd lasted so long… but every soldier stood on a grave. It was all a matter of time. His… time… was now. Uchiha Sasuke braced himself for the worst.

"Y-you… you breathe in all the air!" Ino accused, her face turning as red as the ribbon Sakura had returned. As red as the Uchiha fan symbol. "And then… you… you cause me to be breathless in front of you!"

So this was what she'd been brooding on for three months? Well… he had to think of a nice way to turn her down. Actually… who cared? Ino'd jump right back up… He'd tried avoiding her for weeks… and weeks. But it was hard considering they lived in a village and everyone knew everybody else's business.

"And then I have to call an ambulance," she babbled. "D-don't… please don't interrupt… please, I've worked so long to get the courage to say… please… wait… don't look at me Sasuke-Kun, please…" Ino's skin looked oddly blotchy with the red. "I really… do… admire you…"

Sasuke swallowed hard. He looked absolutely petrified. He was only eight years old, he didn't care about who admired him. He just wanted his dad to say as expected of my son. He just wanted to be trained by Itachi. How could he tell her that he did not harbour the same feelings for her? Even though she practically stalked him, made him hang around with her… it was… he just did not feel the same.

"I love you…" she confessed with an unusually coy look in her eyes. "Please don't play hard to get…"

Honestly, he didn't. He wanted to say that, but he was not a very loud boy. He was a doer rather than a talker. All he could do was bow his head, scared out of his wits at the confession and sprint to the boy's bathroom. The one place she couldn't follow him (even though she had tried with all her stalking abilities).

Ino didn't cry. She didn't cry over much, so she watched him go with a pained smile. "I knew it. He's not man enough to even tell me… that he's never liked me like I liked him..."

Not that Sasuke was a man. Sasuke was eight. So was she.

She'd known that he'd never accept her. But still, she had to get it out of her system. But her first confession had gone so terribly.

"I'm such an idiot. Man… I feel sad now."

Her face crumpled up into an ugly mess. "Aww man… I'm really, really… sad." Ino wasn't sure she was brave enough to hear why he didn't like her.

She slumped down beside the bench. Aw man... she looked so ugly when she cried. She knew. Her face was a blotchy mess and her nose ran and oh man... the bell for class had gone... she'd be late for this class on jutsuisms and whatnot, there was a quiz and Ino knew who'd come top. Sasuke and Sakura.. the swots. What a shame she'd miss the test... (not).

She straightened her hair, propped her face in her knees and cried like a wounded whale on the floor.

At least it was class-time, so nobody would disturb her.
