Chapter One
Shadows fell along the corridors of the castle-like mansion that had once been her home⦠and was now her prison. The amethyst ring on her finger glittered wickedly as if it sensed somehow the return to its home, even after so many centuries of waiting.
Her hands reached out and skimmed along the walls of darkness surrounding her. Suddenly, her eyes fell upon the dust that had once been a life. The life of someone dear to her. "Victor," she whispered, letting her fingers sift through the ashes as emotions overwhelmed her.
The all to familiar pain of loosing him swept through her like a knife. It came accompanied by the anger that had somehow seeped in over the centuries. Was there no way to be with him?
No, she answered for herself, he had proved that. Never would she see him again. He'd made her what she was. Immortal. A scornful laugh ripped from her throat, one filled with hate and self-loathing.
Celeste yanked her hand away, pain filling her again. Victor had always been terrified of death, and yet, he'd sacrificed himself to it so that she might live. She only wished there had been another way. Some way for them to be together. And suddenly a plan began to form in the deepest depths of her mind. She knew what she must do. Who she must encounter and what it might involve on her part. But when she saw in her mind the face of her beloved, she knew that nothing would be more right.

Here is the actual first chapter of the story. I know its unbelivably short, but I hope that you'll still keep reading it. I'll be writing longer chapters as I go along! Reviews would be lovely, :D
