Disclaimer: I do not own the Myth series, or any of Robert Asprin's books, although, ifI did, I would be a great writer
Author's Notes: This is my first fanfic, so let me know what you think...it is more in the more serious tone of the later books, because I'm not so good at the light flippant tone from earlier books...the storyboard is already decided for first three chapters, but I won't write the next until I get 2 reviews...I know, I know,I aim high...
Candle light...candle out...light...out...light...out
Ahhh, I can remember when this used to be hard. Now I can do it without thinking about it. It helps that I'm sitting on a force line too, of course. Trick is not getting to much energy in it. Like Markie. Blow up the entire table. Bu, she turned out to be an assassin, so I wouldn't be too worried. Then again, she wasn't too happy when she left. Great, another thing to worry about...
Ever since I resigned from my position as CEO of M.Y.T.H. Inc., I have had way too much time alone with my thoughts. I thought learning magic would be exciting, like it always was with Aahz and the gang. Seems pretty boring right about now. Maybe he'll bring back some fun stuff from the Bazaar. Not likely though, he's almost as tight-fisted as Aahz.
Almost. How many times his penny pinching got us into trouble. A transdimensional demon hunt through a world of vampires, for 20 gold pieces. Of course, that was mostly the merchants' fault...
A quiet noise made me snap my head towards the candle...or rather, where the candle used to be. Instead, there just hung a little ball of fire, flickering on and off. I waved my hand, and it disappeared. Suspiciously, I re-checked the wards, but they are all still active. Maybe I just put too much energy into it. I'm sure my instructor will have words for me when he gets back. Just then, two strong arms wrapped around me from behind.
"Hiya handsome!"
