NA! I don't own the world of J. K. Rowling.

Anger; hate; a blood-thirst for revenge. These are the feelings that run through my fiery-veins as I awake from a deep slumber.

I find myself chained to rock in a large hole. I glance to my side to find my eggs and another golden-egg I don't recognise. I'll keep the hatchling since its mother doesn't want it.

I suddenly feel a presence in the area and I glance up to find a scrawny, two-legged creature strolling towards me.

Intimidated, I send a blast of flame towards him which he, almost lazily, sidesteps. He continues towards me, his forearms held beside his head.

I recognise this as the natural sign of submission. I let him draw closer. He stops five steps from me and gazes up at me.

My feelings burn down as I gaze into his emerald-eyes and he, into my red-eyes. Curiosity replaces my blood-thirst as he takes a deep-breath. I won't understand him if he speaks to me, as I don't know the way of his tongue; and he, of mine.

When he speaks, I'm shocked as he knows the tongue of the legless but, nevertheless, I listen to one with such skill.

He tells me of the trial he has to face and that he has to either leave this place with my golden-egg or die trying.

I stare deeply into his eyes and I see the truth in them as I nod my head. I quickly go over what he's told me and I formulate a compromise that, I hope, is fair to us both.

I tell him that I'll ask him a riddle and, if he answers correctly, he may leave with my golden-egg or else, he'll never leave.

He contemplates my proposal for a few moments and nods his head in agreement. I recite my riddle. I ask him how many seconds there are in an eternity.

He remains silent for what feels like forever and smiles triumphantly as he comes to an answer. He looks up at me and speaks slowly.

He says that there once was this mountain made of pure diamond. It took an hour to climb and an hour to go around. Every hundred seasons, a phoenix came to the mountain to sharpen its beak.

He continues by saying that when the mountain had been chiselled down to its base by the phoenix's beak, then one second in an eternity had passed.

I remain silent when he finishes his answer. We stare at each-other before I lift the golden-egg and he takes it from my claw and quickly leaves. I realise that I'll never forget this creature for facing me and understanding my trick-riddle. I know he'll win his fate.
