Mack never was very intimate with Brady. She told him she loved him and she held hands with him, spent time with him... But hardly did they ever kiss. Any time he tried to touch her in an intimate way, she found a way to back off or avert his attention. At first, she told herself that it was only because she knew that one day she was going to get pulled away from him. Her Aunt Antoinette was going to come and steal her away to go to college... But when she was transported into Wet Side Story, she finally figured out why.

Mack was always a tomboy. She loved to surf and when she was little, she only hung out with the boys. She played in the mud and climbed up trees and scraped her knees up. She was never one for skirts or dresses, and when she was forced to wear them, she always got stains on them or ripped them in some way. She was raised in sort of a feminist beliefs, and she let everyone know that she thought that women could do anything men could do, if not better than them. That was the main reason she began surfing. A boy once told her she couldn't.

She remembered when she first was brought into Wet Side Story, when the storm had mysteriously disappeared after Brady had dragged her onto the shore. She had yelled at him that she didn't need saving, and the fact that he thought that she did need to be rescued made her angry. She was enraged, in fact, when he brought up something about how she was supposed to be thanking him and showering him in kisses. Mack was used to hearing this sort of thing from Brady, but never before had it really angered her.

That was why, during the shin-dig, when Brady had caught Leila, Mack egged him on with her. She didn't want to let him know she was really mad, but in all honestly, Mack didn't care what Brady did with Leila. Mostly because she was just a character in a movie, but also because maybe she didn't really even care, in that way, about Brady. She was not really as romantically attached to him as she originally thought she was...

When she didn't dance with him, she thought it was because maybe she was just not in the mood, that she didn't want to go along with the movie, but in reality, she just didn't want to dance with him.

But she would've gladly danced with Leila...
