Chapter 1: In Which We Get Ready
Twilight's POV
The air was humid as I stepped outside, saddlebags filled with things we may need and a checklist floating in my face. I was ready to meet the other girls at Fluttershy's house to make last preparations before heading out into the Everfree Forest. We were going camping for 2 nights and were leaving tonight. When I arrived, the first thing I noticed was that I was the last to arrive. The second was that they were all excited looking rather than didn't notice me come in until I cleared my throat loudly.
"Howdy Twilight!" Applejack called in her usual southern drawl, beckoning me over. I had started reading the list again, just to give it a once over. I looked over at the sound of my name to see that the other girls had full saddlebags as well. My hooves click on the wood floor as I cross the wood floor to where they were sitting and chatting.
"Yay! Twilight's here! LET'S GO!" shouted Pinkie Pie, who darted up, slung on her bag, and started prancing around the room. The others stood up and grabbed their bags as well, making their way across the room towards the door, chattering excitedly. I followed, anticipating the few nights ahead.
