Just a little two shot that I've had in my head for a long time. I know it's not New Years yet but Happy New Years anyway!
~ Flashback ~
Oliver Queen, billionaire play boy and the hero Green Arrow , leaned against the stone balcony with a glass of scotch in his hands and looked up to watch the stars. It had been a long time since he last saw her, about ten years now. Where and what was was she doing? Did she ever think of him like he thought of her?
He was having a party and most of his friends were there to celebrate the New Year with him but after seeing how Clark and Chloe were so in love with each other he couldn't help but wonder what if. What if she had stayed? Could they have had what his friends have now?
"Hey Oliver."
Oliver looked over his shoulder. "Oh, hey Clark. Enjoying the party?"
Clark smiled. "Yeah, you sure do know how to through a party. So who is she?"
"I don't know what you mean."
"I've known you for awhile but it wasn't until Chloe and I started dating that you started to withdraw a little bit. Is it about Chloe?"
"No."
"Then what is it."
Oliver looked down at his drink before taking a sip. "It's more about you and Chloe." Seeing the confused look on Clark's face he continued. "I had a friend once, a best friend and seeing how much you love Chloe just made me think about her is all."
"What happened?"
"Our mothers were best friends so we saw each other a lot growing up. Play dates on the weekends and school holidays. We were seven or eight and her and her parents were leaving when she suddenly hugged me, whispered goodbye and kissed me on the cheek. I never saw her again."
"You miss her."
"Yeah, I just remember that know matter how much I annoyed her she still stuck by me. Now I wonder if she still would."
"So find her and call her."
"I don't know Clark; it's been a long time. We're different people now."
"So, Chloe and I have grown up and changed too but at the same time we're both the same people too. It couldn't hurt to at least talk to her, catch up on each others lives. It's a new year Oliver, you just might be surprised."
