So this is merely a short little one-shot that's been sitting in one of my files. I'd hoped that it would turn into a story but I've gotten nothing from it so it's going to be a one-shot. Anyway I hope that you guys enjoy it!
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, wish I did but alas I do not.
The sky remained clear and blue, the sun shining down upon the scared earth below as bodies lay scattered across the horizon. There was no sign of life, no groan of an injured, there was no sound of metal against metal, no sound of screaming and blood hitting the ground. Birds began to sing a soft, almost sorrowful tune as the wind blew and caressed the dead, as if a mother caressing her child to a peaceful sleep where the dreamland would embrace them. This caressing though promised an eternal dream, one would not be able to wake from.
The clouds lazily passed over, the weather warm and perfect for a normal day.
A few hours passed as the sun slowly and calmly made its way across the sky while nothing but the wind and animals moved below the vast blue stretch of sky. As the afternoon began, there was movement among the bodies, a twitch and a soft gasp for air as the body shivered and eyes screwed shut for a moment before slowly the eyelids pulled back and deep blue orbs blinked up at the sky pain in their eyes as they tried to move. Slowly the body shifted and managed to get onto their hands and knees, their clothes nothing but rags as the scars that decorated their flesh slowly began to heal while the bruises remained.
With a hiss full of pain the body stood, standing at a mere five foot five, their body much too thin to be healthy though still holding tightly packed lean muscles under dark tan skin. A mess of bloodstained white-blonde hair sat atop their head while blue eyes looked over the area with a frown.
"What…happened?" They rasped as they limped forward some, looking over some of the bodies, pausing when a flicker of recognition passed over them seeing one body. They slowly walked over and knelt down, reaching and brushing some of the girl's odd pink hair from her pale face, her now dull jade eyes staring back at them before they gently closed them causing the girl to only appear to be asleep. "Did I know you?" they asked softly.
The survivor stood and looked up at the sky once more, eyes closed as they felt the sun. They heard nothing but the sound of wind and a few birds chirp. They opened their eyes as tears began to fall from their eyes, though they knew not why as they looked back at the pink haired girl dropped to their knees, shaking as cries began to ring out over the horizon mixed with the wind and songs of birds while the sun shone down.
And there we have it. Like I said it was a short one-shot. It was mostly just a scene I randomly came up with during a chat with a friend and I thought I'd turn it into something like a crossover with something like One Piece or Harry Potter but I never had any ideas or plot bunnies attack me. Funny how when you need or want new ideas they never come but when you're working on like twenty different projects you keep getting bugged by the damned plot bunnies.
Anyway, review or don't up to you. Hope the holidays are good to all!
