Ryo had just come home from a WBBA board meeting. He ate his dinner and got ready for bed in his polka dot pajamas. Ryo climbed into bed and was going to turn the lamp off, when he heard the creaking of a door outside his room. Ryo lazily dismissed the noise and was about to fall asleep when he heard footsteps. Ryo was nervous as he hopped up from the safety and comfort of his bed and walked up to the door. As the red-head turned the door knob, his anxiousness about what it might be grew to the size of a beach ball, (that was considered to be heaps!). Ryo slowly opened the door and was startled as he saw a silhouette down the hallway creeping towards him. Ryo took a step back.
The mysterious silhouette took up the stance that a blader would before starting a bey battle and shouted, "3, 2, 1, let it rip!"
Ryo was startled and put at ease when he heard the familiarity of his son's voice. Sighing, he found the hallway light switch and turned the light on, revealing the young blader.
He should have known that Gingka was sleep walking and talking. Again. Gingka did this every few days.
"GO PEGASUS!"
Ryo shook his head and said, " Go to sleep Gingka."
But as usual, that made no difference. Gingka was too focused on his 'battle'
"Don't give up, Pegasus, you can do it!", he exclaimed loudly.
Ryo remembered when he used to sleep walk as a child in Koma Village.
When he was young, Ryo would often sleep talk/walk during the night. He too, would pretend to be battling against his imaginary opponents. In order to wake Ryo Up from his explosive dreams, his father would grab a glass full of ice cold water and splash it on Ryo's face, ultimately, leaving Ryo wide awake and soaking wet.
His father would also say, "That is enough Ryo, go back to sleep", in his seriously stern, but comforting voice.
Looking back at his childhood memories, Ryo thought of a tiny prank. He walked past Gingka, who was screaming, "dodge it, Pegasus!", and into the kitchen. He turned the water on to its coldest temperature and took hold of a glass, fillinf it with the icy substance. Ryo was grinning, as he walked back to the hallway, glass in hand.
"That's right, Pegasus, show them your - Whaaaaah!,
Gingka was soaking wet, awake and shivering.
"Who did this?", Gingka said, while his teeth chattered, uncontrollably.
He looked up at Ryo, who looked like he was going to burst into laughter.
"Sorry, Gingka", he said while laughing, "my father always did this to me when I used to sleep walk as a kid!"
Looking very confused, Gingka asked, "I sleep walk?!"
Ryo nodded at his son.
"Gingka, my son, you sleep walk every couple of days, err, I mean nights and you tend to scare me a bit while you're at it."
Gingka and his father laughed and talked more of Ryo's mischievous childhood acts. Gingka yawned and said, "good night, dad."
Ryo nods and replies, "good night, son.", just as the young red-head reached his bedroom door. Smiling, Ryo retreated back to his bedroom, wondering when his next sleepwalking Gingka encounter will be...
