A/N: Yet another tiny little drabble request someone made in the KH yaoi community: "Xigbar/Sora, guns." Review if you're inclined; it's fun.

Trigger Happy

The funny thing is that the Keyboy never suspects it. He's gotten into the Castle That Never Fucking Was and he's walking around like he owns the place, head high and something like determination in his eyes. And it's going well until Xigbar tears the space around him, puts one of his bright guns against the Keybearer's head, with a simple order: "Don't move."

Sora senses it all—familiar voice, black coat, gun at head—and so spits out something defiant and brave, something about how Xigbar can't tell him what to do. He tightens his grip on the kid, and those pretty lips are just as good as sewn shut.

"Don't make me shoot you down yet," Xigbar growls in his ear, satisfied that the Keyboy—Sora—is flinching. Xemnas has ordered Xigbar to bring back the boy's body, but he hasn't specified what condition, and he didn't set a deadline. Xigbar's trying to keep his trigger happy tendencies locked up—at least for right now.

"You're going to torture me, aren't you?" Sora's voice is laced with restrained fear, and it's cute how he's still trying to sound brave.

"As if," Xigbar spits with disgust. "That's Larxene's turf, and you've already killed her. You've got nothing to worry about."

A black-and-white protest from the Keyboy: "You're still one of them—"

What happens next is so fast, too fast, that neither of them remember it clearly. Xigbar's gotten a grip on Sora's spiky hair, holding the Keyboy's face up to his while his short legs dangle above the ground. They are so close they can smell each other's breath.

"You haven't been a good boy at all," Xigbar says with a smile Sora can't read, but a smile that's dark enough to cause Sora to twist. Twist free.

There's that look of defiance again, almost intensely cruel, that reminds Xigbar that this boy will go through anyone to get to his friends.

"I'm better than you!" Sora proclaims loudly, his key prepared for battle.

That's when the urge flows through, when the sniper techniques start kicking in, and he savors these last few moments before he goes trigger happy. Xigbar only smirks.

"Have it your way," he tells the Keybearer, and takes his steady aim.
