Double Life
A/N: Inspired by season/series 3 and clips of season 4 of Merlin and the Song "Double Life" by We As Human. Just a short one shot. This is my first fanfic, so tell me what you think. No flames please. No beta. I do not own the show or the song.
You walk through Camelot like a queen, your silks and jewels on display for all to see. You count those who you once loved among your enemies, but they can't know, not yet. You hide the truth behind a smile, but he always sees through you, he knows what you did. In secret you plot their fall, they'll all pay for your crushed and frozen heart. You look in a mirror and for a second, just one second, you see the king you hate so much. But he betrayed you, you're not him. You try to justify the blood on your hands in the hopes it will wash away. This double life consumes you from the inside. Now you're running, you run because he knows the truth, they all do now. He gave you every chance to turn back, but now you have to live with this, consequences of your choices. This double life has eaten you from the inside, not much more than an empty shell. Not even silks and jewels remain to cover you.
